Amazing whale watching experience

We had an amazing experience with Chad and the crew of Three Tiki Sailing. We took an 8:00 am sail to avoid the winds and the weather was perfect. Parking was easy and inexpensive along the harbor. There was another large group lining up near our catamaran. We were happy to find that our boat had only a dozen guests making for what felt like a private tour. We almost felt sorry for the packed multi-level boat adjacent to us. The Three Tiki team were entertaining and made the entire tour educational. We saw a sea turtle before we even made it out of the harbor. Within 20 minutes we saw our first whale and consistently saw a mom and calf throughout our time. It does get a little chilly in the morning so a light jacket is recommended. Honestly if we hadn’t seen any whales the experience alone of sailing on the catamaran and lounging in the trampolines would have been worth it. But the Three Tiki team navigated well and made sure we got the full experience. Would highly recommend this group.

The Ala Wai Boat Harbor is easily accessible and is located on the edge of Waikiki. Guests staying at Waikiki hotels and resorts can get to the check-in location by public transportation, taxis, and ride shares, or driving on your own.

Ala Wai Boat Harbor is approximately a 45-60 minutes drive from the Ko Olina resort area, and up to a 15-minute drive from most major Waikiki hotels and resorts.

Parking:Guests who are driving can either park at the Ala Wai Boat Harbor paid parking, or there is also valet and self-parking at nearby hotels like the Prince Hotel and the Ilikai. Please note that hotel parking prices are much higher than harbor parking.
