Arrive at the Kona Airport

Once you have your boarding passes, head to the gate to prepare for your quick inter-island flight to Oahu. While waiting, take the opportunity to purchase snacks or beverages to enjoy before your tour. Be sure to use the restroom facilities before boarding for added comfort during your journey.

Once you board the plane, sit back and relax as you embark on your short flight to Oahu. Enjoy the beverage service and take in the breathtaking views from above. Before long, the captain will announce your descent, and you will soon land at Honolulu Airport, ready to begin your historic tour.

When you arrive at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, take your time exploring exhibits with artifacts from December 7, 1941. You will learn about the events that changed history and reflect by the waterfront. Don’t forget to check out the bookstore and gift shop for souvenirs to remember your visit.

Before visiting the USS Arizona Memorial, all guests will watch a powerful documentary film about the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. The film provides unique historical context, featuring archival footage and survivor stories, offering insight into the events of that pivotal day.

After watching the documentary film, board a Navy ferry for a 10-minute ride across the harbor to the USS Arizona Memorial. Once there, you will have about 30 minutes to explore the memorial, reflect on the historic events that unfolded, and pay tribute to the service members who lost their lives.

Step aboard the USS Missouri and walk the historic decks where WWII officially ended with Japan’s surrender. See the massive guns that played a crucial role in its service, and delve into its rich history, spanning from its pivotal role in WWII to its later involvement in the Gulf War and beyond.

Make your way on to the USS Bowfin, the "Pearl Harbor Avenger," and dive into its rich history. Explore the role of submarines in underwater combat during WWII as you tour the vessel. Discover fascinating exhibits and learn about the strategic impact this submarine had in the Pacific during the war.

Explore the crucial role of aviation in the Pacific theater of WWII at the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum. Discover exhibits showcasing historic aircraft, heroic pilots, and their compelling stories. Learn about the pivotal battles and innovations that shaped the course of the war in the Pacific.

After your Pearl Harbor visit, enjoy a scenic bus tour through historic downtown Honolulu. Pass iconic landmarks like Iolani Palace, the King Kamehameha Statue, and Punchbowl National Cemetery, soaking in the rich history and culture of Hawaii’s capital as you explore its cultural & historic sites.

Pass through Punchbowl National Cemetery, a resting place for U.S. service members, nestled in an extinct volcanic crater. This serene and reflective location offers visitors a chance to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country, creating a peaceful atmosphere.

Take in the sight of Iolani Palace, the former royal residence of Hawaii’s monarchy, viewed from the King Kamehameha Statue or a short walk away. This historic palace showcases Hawaii’s unique blend of cultural heritage and Western influences, offering a glimpse into the island’s royal past.

View Kawaiaha’o Church, often called the "Westminster Abbey of the Pacific," from the King Kamehameha Statue. Built from ancient coral blocks, this historic church holds deep significance in Hawaii’s religious and royal history. It stands as a key landmark, reflecting the island’s cultural heritage.

See the King Kamehameha Statue at Ali’iolani Hale, home to the Hawaii State Supreme Court. This iconic statue honors the king who united the Hawaiian Islands, while Ali’iolani Hale stands as a symbol of Hawaii’s political history, blending tradition and governance in the heart of Downtown Honolulu.

With your boarding passes ready, head to the gate for your short inter-island flight back to Kona. Use this time to unwind in the terminal, soak in the island atmosphere of the airport, and recharge before your flight. You can also grab a last-minute souvenir or snack to enjoy on your journey.

After boarding the plane, fasten your seatbelt & relax for a short flight back to the Big Island. Enjoy the beverage service while taking in the views, and before you know it, you will be landing at Kona Airport. Once you arrive, you can pick up your car from parking or arrange a taxi or rideshare.

- The WWII Valor in the Pacific National Monument enforces a "No Bags Allowed" policy. Purses, handbags, fanny packs, backpacks, camera bags, luggage, diaper bags, and any items that could conceal contents are not permitted in the Visitor Center or Memorial. Strollers with pockets must be empty. Personal cameras are allowed.
