• During whale migration season, December through March, keep an eye out for humpback whales breaching in the distance as they journey to their mating grounds each year. In any season, look out for honu (Hawaiian green sea turtles).
• What to wear: Wear something comfortable that you won’t mind getting a little bit wet, as there is always a chance of getting splashed whenever you are out on the waves. You might want to wear your bathing suit if you would like to relax in the catamaran’s front lounging nets, where you can get well and truly splashed while the sail is underway! Plenty of storage is available on board, as are two marine heads (restrooms), so you can also bring your own towel and/or a change of clothes.
• What to bring: Don’t forget essentials like a camera and/or phone, and a valid photo ID if you are planning on enjoying the bar. A waterproof case and/or strap is a good idea for these too. Finally, bring a light jacket or sweater as it can get a bit chilly on the ocean.

The Makani Catamaran is a state-of-the-art 64ft vessel that features comfortable seats, semi-enclosed main cabin area, open decks, dual bar stations, sunbathing nets for you to lounge in, 2 freshwater restrooms, swim ladders, and 32″ flat screen HDTV with surround sound audio, plus iPod hook up. The boat is certified for up to 79 guests, but limited to 49 to ensure a more comfortable experience for everyone aboard.

Check-in location: Kewalo Basin Harbor, easily accessible from all parts of Oahu by public transportation, taxis, ride shares, or driving.

Driving distance: Kewalo Basin is a short 10- to 15-minute drive from the heart of Waikiki, located in the popular Kakaako district between Waikiki and Downtown Honolulu.

Parking: Limited paid parking is available at the harbor.
