Why do travelers choose this tour?
Not only is the boat cruise completely private for your group, but you will also go to a secluded area of the Kaneohe Sandbar so you can say "goodbye" to crowds and hello to uninterrupted bliss as you enjoy your time in the water.
Choose from a variety of ocean activities to do during your visit to the sandbar. Snorkeling, kayaking, and standup paddle boarding (SUP) are all included, and you can even add upgrades for ocean thrill rides like a banana boat and tubing!
With the KBOS Kaneohe Sandbar tour, everyone can find something to enjoy. Regardless of age or physical ability, there's guaranteed enjoyment for all. Whether you prefer unwinding under the sun on the floating barge, engaging in a lively game of water volleyball, exploring the vibrant underwater world through snorkeling, or leisurely strolling and swimming along the sandbar, unforgettable moments await you.
How does it work?
Once you check-in with the crew at the dock, make your way on board the spacious boat and have a seat. Depending on the tour time, you will be able to enjoy a donut breakfast or sandwich lunch on your way out to sandbar, but both tours will also include live music during the ride.
After the boat is moored at the sandbar, you will have plenty of time to explore and enjoy all that the area has to offer. Crew members will be on hand to assist you in snorkeling, kayaking, standup paddling, or volleyball, and you can also just swim and have a moment of serenity under the sun.
Guests that have booked the ocean thrill ride upgrades will be informed by crew members when it is time to board the banana boat or tube before you are whisked away across the waves by a quick and nimble speed boat.
After over 2 hours in the water, it will be time to head back to the harbor, and as you enjoy the private ride back, you will experience the best way to end a wonderful day on Kaneohe Bay!
Local expert tips
Although a set menu is available for the morning and lunch tours, if you would like something different, you can discuss alternative catering menu options with a HawaiiActivities.com tour specialist.
Guests are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages on board for a nominal corkage fee which includes cooler use and bags of ice, or guests can purchase beverages at the on board bar.
There is a small store with drinks, ice, and snacks available at the harbor if you would like to purchase items before the tour.
Bring a waterproof or splash proof bag for any belongings you would like to take out into the water. You can leave them up on the floating lounge, but it is always safer to have them in a bag that will repel water.
The Kaneohe Bay Sandbar is fun to visit at almost anytime of the year, but the 9:00AM morning tour will normally be less windy with calmer ocean conditions.
To check when high and low tide is predicted at the Kaneohe Bay Sandbar, click here to be directed to the official National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) website.
Recommend attire: While there are restrooms, guests should wear their swimsuit under their clothing. Sunglasses and brimmed hat are very helpful when out exploring the sandbar, and a light jacket or hoodie is a great way to stay warm on the boat ride back.
Recommend items to bring: Guests should bring beach towels and reef-safe sunscreen. Food and snacks are more than welcome to be brought on board, and small coolers or cooler bags should be used since ice is not available.
