After your check-in, lifeguard certified professionals will go over the basics of how to paddle, and make sure that you are comfortable in the water. From there, you will head out into the open water for a thrilling Hawaiian ocean adventure where you will paddle and surf along the Big Island coast.

Q. Are you required to wear a life jacket?
A. Yes, wearing a life jacket is required for canoe surfing.
Q. Do I need to be able to swim to participate?
A. Being able to swim is not required, however, if you don't know how to swim then you will be required to wear a life jacket. You must also be able to paddle and participate in this activity.
Q. How many people are there in a tour group?
A. Canoe Surfing is limited to a maximum group size of three (3).
Q. What if the canoe flips over?
A. You will be briefed on shore before the activity begins in case of that happening so you know what to do.
Q. What kind of experience do the guides have?
A. Locally owned and operated and willing to share their expertise and "Island Aloha" with you! Jun, the owner, was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii and has a vast water knowledge stemming from decades of surfing, canoe paddling, sailing, and running the water safety patrol in Hawaii. Along with Jun, all instructors and guides are friendly, knowledgeable and trained and certified in water safety patrol, there to ensure your complete safety and fun on all your adventures!
