Absolutely stunning!!
Reviewed by: Christine, 2015/08/23Was picked up from Kihei hotel at 2:30am on Aug. 18. It is quite early but was worth the lack of sleep and every penny. Sunrise was stunning!! They do a little chant before the sun shows up, which sounds really cool. After the sunrise, you get to tour around the mountain to take pictures of silverswords and perhaps the Big Island you can see in a clear day.
As for how cold it is up there, I am pretty warm blooded, so I thought it wouldn't be much of a big deal. Oh boy was I wrong! The temperature itself isn't too low, but keep in mind that up in 10,000 ft. the wind slashes at you in all directions and that you need to keep standing there for at least an hour if you want a good spot for beautiful pics. I even saw people wrapped up in thick blankets (not the thin ones but the fluffy ones for bed) and padded outerwear. So do prepared! :)
Oh and the breakfast afterwards was okay. For the last stop the guide takes you to a local market so that you could shop for souvenirs.

忘れられない体験
Reviewed by: mh0126, 2015/07/06今回は一人参加だったのですが、同じように一人で参加されてる方もいたり皆さんフレンドリーなムードで本当に楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。山頂の素晴らしい夕陽と満点の星空に加えて、何よりガイドのやまぴーさんのさりげなく最高の気遣いで忘れられない体験となりました。他には騒がしいツアーや、効率だけの慌ただしそうなツアーも見受けられましたがもしハレアカラに登られるのであれば絶対こちらがオススメです！次は両親を連れて同じ素晴らしい経験をさせてあげたいと思います。
なるべくゆったりとしたツアーを遂行するのを目指しております。お１人で参加される方もかなり多いのですが、帰りは皆さん「あいのり」状態で帰られます（笑）。今度はご両親を連れて是非いらっしゃってください。お写真綺麗に撮れていて、素晴らしいです。

Excellent Tour package
Reviewed by: Bill, 2015/07/01The guide was knowledgeable and very informative on the drive from Hilo to Hana, making several stops along the way, including a nice picnic lunch, (but meager vegetarian lunch for 2 of us who are vegetarians). I did get the feeling that we were on a timeline, though.
The Helicopter trip back to Hilo was fun and interesting, but did not go up into the volcano area and just flew along the coast and up the side of the volcano a bit. The pilot was very thoughtful and helpful throughout the trip.
Overall, it was a good tour, and I recommend it.
To the tour operators: you need to improve on your vegetarian lunches (maybe do a wrap with a tortilla, instead of lettuce?

The sun creeps over the cloud cover and suddenly everything is lit up with golden sunshine. After that, they took us to the summit and a couple other places on the mountain to see the crater and then took us back down and served us breakfast.

BEST TOUR EVER !
Reviewed by: Robert & Sharon, 2015/06/15Best tour we have ever taken anywhere. Very small group (only 4 of us). The tour driver was very Knowledgeable. Easy driving tour without having to rush. With ony 4 in the group, we stay longer on stops we liked and shorter on the ones we didn't. Lunch was good, again without having to rush off to stay on schedule. The same was true for the helicopter ride back. The polit was fantastic and always made sure we have our camera shots before leaving a givin area. He even spotted a whale (in late May no less) for us to see. Is this tour pricey? yes. Is it worth every penny? YES YES YES !

A little dissapointing due to weather
Reviewed by: Jimmer Cassiol, 2015/06/03The main reason for the helicopter tour was to fly over the crater at Haleakala. Unfortunately the clouds prevented us from doing that. The staff was unable to confirm that we would not be flying over the crater until we were actually in the air. Then on top of the bad address provided for the heliport and the lack of specific detailed information on getting to the helicopter location made for a very stressful and frustrating morning. Once landing and getting on the van to drive back from Hana things were much better. The tour guide in the van was very informative. I would only take this trip again if there were a discount included if weather conditions made it impossible to get to the crater.

Cold, but quite a view
Reviewed by: Titan, 2015/06/01It was really nice to have someone else drive so early in the morning, plus having coffee and a lite breakfast. The sunrise itself was nice, the clouds slowly poured into the crater, slightly reminding you of a waterfall. Bring a camera that takes good night/dark pictures!
The site itself was cold and somewhat crowded, but thankfully we got there early enough to get a decent place. The driver/tour guide (Stephen) was great, very knowledgeable and had a perfect mix of professionalism and humor, without being stupid or annoying. Breakfast at Casanova's was very good.

とても温かい人柄が伝わりました。
星空の説明も色々とても丁寧、レディーファーストで、rickさんの人柄、お話にとても惹かれました！
サンセットは雲海、雲の絨毯に沈んでいく太陽。
キレイの一言。
星空はハワイとは思えないほど寒かったですが瞬きがもったいないほど綺麗で感動しました。
流れ星も見れました！
精霊も私たちのカメラに写って、テンション上がりました！！
本当に素敵なツアーに参加出来て感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。
次に来る機会があればまた是非参加したいです！

Bring a jacket as it gets really cold at the summit.

Reviewed by: おかだ, 2015/04/29ハネムーンでマウイに7泊しており、せっかくならハレアカラに行こうということで、主人と妹の3人で参加しました。段々と体をならしながら、車で登って行き段々と着込んでいきます。かなり寒いのでダウンの上にお借りしたダウンを着ました。最高のサンセットと星空。流れ星も見れて最高でした。新婚さんにはたくさんよってくる精霊シャカマンダ。これすごかったです！解説もさすがでした。オススメです！3人でお世話になりました。
マウイ島のハネムーンは本当におすすめです。オアフ島と違ったゆったりした時間が過ごせると思うので、また是非１周年記念で参加してください！

リックさん、ありがとう。

ガイドさんは、以前ホノルルで結婚式のプランナーをやっていたというリックさん。
軽快なトークと細やかな気遣いができる方でした。
代表の方のガイドを期待していたけど、日本へ出張されているとの事で代わりでした。
参加者は途中のクリスピークリームドーナッツで合流。ドーナッツ1個と飲み物のサービス。
ドーナッツはオリジナルと日本にはないフレーバーの２種類。ガイドさんが適当において行く。オリジナルは日本でも食べられるから好みを聞いて注文してくれればよいのにと思いました。
途中、高山病を防ぐ為にお土産屋さんやトイレ休憩をはさみ、山頂へ。
きれいなサンセットを観れました。写真もたくさん撮ってくれました。人生観変わるようなそんな景色に感動。大地・宇宙の雄大さを感じ、その中にいる小さな自分。がんばろう、と勇気をもらいました。
車中で日本食のお弁当。まぁまぁおいしい。温かいお茶もうれしいサービス。
次は星がよく見えるポイントへ移動。椅子や望遠鏡の準備が整ったら防寒の準備をしていざ、外へ。
こんなにも星ってあったんですね、と感動。北極星が下の方にあり、北半球でも赤道に近くマウイに来ているんだと改めて実感。北斗七星もきれいに柄杓が観れました。小学校で使った星図版を持って説明と聞けば良く理解出来ただろうな〜と。リックさんもきちんと説明してくれました。金星もよ〜く観れてまたまた感動。
でも外は寒い寒い・・・。防寒は貸してくれるけど自分でも持って行った方がよいかも。特に温かい帽子と手袋。ヒートテックもあればなおさらいいかも。
その他、銀剣草やネーネーの話は興味深く聞かせてもらいました。
リックさん、すてきなツアーをありがとうございました。
ツアーご参加有難うございました。途中ドーナッツをなぜ食べるかというと、高山病予防なのです。３０００メートルから望遠鏡で見る星空は、ホテルで見る星空とは全く違い、目に見えない星を皆さんにご紹介致します！

ホテルの前まで迎えに来て頂き、山内さん、Rickさんともにバスの移動中も会話で楽しませて下さり、
sunsetも星も色々教えて下さり、1人でも十分楽しむことができました！
最後はホテルに電話までして頂き、とてもお世話になりました！
三日月が明るく、新月だったらもっと星が見えたのかと思いますが、その分、月がとても綺麗に見え、
星も南十字星など日本ではなかなか見ることの出来ないものも見えて大満足です！！

赤道の上にある位置にマウイがあるので、季節によって南十字星が見られる所です。お一人でも皆さんと楽しめるツアーなので、是非皆さんいらしてください。

最高の夕陽と星空

雲の上て見る夕陽と星空は絶品でした。山頂は稀に見る強風で、立っているのもやっとといった感じでしたが、太陽や空の色はとても綺麗でかんどうしました。
星空の時間帯にも、ただでさえ澄んだ星空で感動なのに、３つの望遠鏡を駆使しながら、あらゆる星を見せてくださったり、解説も細かくしていただき楽しめました。

Spectacular Haleakala Sunrise Tour with Park Admission & Breakfast at Mill House

Reviewed by: Jesper, 2015/02/09Enjoyed this tremendously! The sunrise at Haleakala is as spectacular as everyone says it is.
Our guide (Bob) had a lot of humour, was well-informed and passionate, and gave us the freedom to go where we wanted to during the actual sunrise instead of having to stay at a designated spot.
Included breakfast was decent too.
The early wake-up is well worth it. Don't miss this when you're on Maui.
