Kaneohe Bay Sandbar Ocean Sports Adventure with Snorkel, Kayak, SUP & Live Music
No sandbar visible at all
Reviewed by: Nancy O, 2022/10/18We recognize that no one can control the weather, the tides, or the water depth on any given day but the company could note on their website that the water level has been so high lately that it's rare that the sandbar is visible. Having pictures on the website that show the sandbar above water is very misleading without any asterisks as to weather conditions, water depths, or tides.
The afternoon we went in mid October 2022, the water over the sandbar was about 4-5' deep. It wasn't until we talked with one of the crew who said the sandbar has only been visible about two days this whole summer. Had we known that, we wouldn't have booked but of course, that's exactly why they don't post anything about the rising ocean on the website because they'd lose money. So instead, they let people think they'll get the experience like the photos show which is pretty misleading and close to false advertising.
Unfortunately, we also got a cloudy afternoon with intermittent rain and pretty choppy water so weren't able to try the standup paddle boards or kayaks.
The two-guy band on the boat was good. They played 3 songs on the short boat ride out to the sandbar and then a couple on the way back. They didn't play during the time at the sandbar.
The turkey croissant lunch was good.
The floating suntanning platform near the sandbar was unusable. It had built-in chairs but if you wanted your towel, you had to hold it above your head to keep it dry and swim, tread, or walk in 4' water from the boat to the platform. It would have been helpful if a crew member took towels, etc. over to the platform on a paddle board or something so they'd be dry.
If you have kids or you're a short adult who doesn't want to have to tread water or wear a life vest for the 3+ hours in the water over the sandbar, this isn't the excursion for you. We had a better sandbar off the beach at the Outrigger hotel in Waikiki. Also, the water on Oahu's north shore isn't as clear as in Waikiki.

Keauhou Bay Manta Ray Night Dive Tour & Snorkel Adventure from Kona - Sea Quest
Well worth it!

There are a lot of different companies doing this type of tour. Sea Quest really has the entire process dialed in to make the most of the experience and to maximize your viewing time. Very professional and just downright nice. They truly care about delivering. Would highly recommend.

まさに絶景。

送迎バスで港に行き、船に乗り換えサンドバーへ。
まさに絶景でした。
天候にも恵まれシュノーケリング、ボードを楽しみました。
シュノーケリングではサンゴと戯れる魚、そしてウミガメを近くで見ることもでき、感動しました。
係留中の船内にはスナック菓子やりんご、ドリンクがたくさんあり、小腹が空いても安心でした。
スタッフの皆さんもとてもフレンドリーで、よりツアーを楽しめました。
ただ、今回のツアーはほとんどが日本人(台湾・韓国の方もいらっしゃいました)だったのですが、海での過ごし方や注意事項の説明は英語のみでした。
英語説明終了後、「はい、わからなかった人。(船に)残って」と挙手をさせて、日系人スタッフからサービスのように日本語での説明がありました。
別のオプショナルツアーでは、英語説明と一緒に必ず日本語で説明してくれたので、その点だけは残念でした。
総合的にはホノルルとは違ったハワイが味わえ、本当に楽しかったです。
ハワイに行った時は是非参加していただきたいと思います。

Ocean Encounters Manta Ray Snorkel Tour - Sunset & Moonlight Cruise from Kona
Mantas are amazing but not the boat or the crew.
Reviewed by: Mashka, 2022/10/17The boat was old and had not enough power. On the way there we were passed by many boats of same size. Then the boat wouldn't start at all and we were towed back to port. 3 passengers were very sea sick.
The crew didn't provide any information about the manta reys while we watched. Other boat crews were very informative.
Would not recommend.

サンドバーツアー
Reviewed by: sayu, 2022/10/17ハネムーンで夫と参加しました。マスク着用とありましたが、私達は念のため持っていきましたが着用はしませんでした。
道中の船はとても静かに進み、いつも薬を飲んでいても船酔いする私がまったくせず、軽食を食べても酔いもせず快適でした！普段船酔いする方でもこれなら大丈夫かもしれません。
事前に契約書？みたいなのにサインするのですが、そこに書かれているような服装の人はほぼおらず、普通にみんな足とか腕とか出た服装でした。だからいろいろ規約に書かれているほど厳しくないのかもしれないです。
船ではハワイアンミュージックを生演奏してくれるのでそれを聞いたり、軽食のドーナツや飲み物を飲んで過ごしました。
着いてからはそのまま泳げますし、シュノーケルやカヤックなども無料で貸し出しがあるのですることができます。有料のバナナボートや水上バイク？も当日空きがあればお金を支払って参加できます。
着いてからは丸々2時間ほどあったのでしょうか？かなりゆっくり海に入っていられた印象です。
帰りのボートでは暖かい紅茶もあるので冷えた身体を温められます。
説明は英語、日本語、韓国語などで片言ですが伝わります。
全体的に想像してたより海は普通で感動はしませんでしたがタイミングなのでしょうか？
とりあえずゆっくりできたこと、軽食は好きなだけ食べれたこと、彼が満足そうだったので、星4にしました。
１つ残念なこととしては場所がホノルルから離れているので送迎をお願いしたのですが、行きも帰りも遅かったこと。朝も20分ほど予定から遅れていましたが、まさかの帰りのバスも待っても待っても出発せず、運転手が戻ってきて告げたのは乗客の1組が現地で軽食を食べている。それが終わらないことには出られないとのこと。勿論イライラ。外人の観光客もしびれをきらしそのご飯中の１組のところへ行って話し合って来てくれたようで、なんとか30分後くらいには出発できましたがあり得なかったです。
申し訳ないですが注意事項に現地での途中飲食は出来ませんとか、途中飲食される場合は送迎致しませんとか書いて下さい。食べていたカップルはそんなにすぐ出発すると思わなかったと言っていたと運転手が言っていましたが、勝手な思い込みは他の人が迷惑です。乗車の際も謝りもせず普通に座って何様なのかと思いました。
スタッフ、雰囲気、サービスは良かっただけにその前後の送迎が足を引っ張った感じがします。

心に一生残る景色でした！強くおすすめします

港からサンドバーへはボートであっという間に着きました。ボートで向かってる間にスタッフさんから説明があります。基本は英語ですが、日本語での説明も丁寧にしてくださいましたので、とても安心できました。(おそらく日本人の方は3組くらい参加していました)
一応潮の満ち引きは予約前に確認はしましたが、幸い空は快晴で、サンドバーの水深もちょうど良かったです。
まず、ライフジャケットを付けて、比較的最新の深いサンゴ礁を泳ぎました。眠っているウミガメを見れたり、スタッフさんが魚を寄せてくれたり、ヒトデを触らせてくれたりもしました。泳げない妻でも安心して楽しめました。海はもちろん綺麗です。
浅瀬に戻ってからは、SAPで素晴らしい景色とたくさん写真を撮ることができました。
ボートに戻るとコーヒーやジュース、スナック菓子、林檎など用意してくれているので、疲れたら休憩することが出来ます。
スタッフさんも皆さんニコニコで、こちらが楽しむことをサポートしてくれます。
一生の思い出になりました。またハワイに来たら是非とも参加したいです！！！

一つアドバイスですが、往復のバスはエアコンがめちゃめちゃ効いてるので、羽織るものはあった方がいいかも！

1人参加でも楽しめます

サンドバーの出現は時期や時間帯にもよるので、私が参加した日は胸あたりまで水位があり、砂浜は見ることができませんでしたが、足がつく浅めの海でシュノーケルやカヤック、supなどのアクティビティをして楽しかったです。日程に余裕があり調整できる方は潮位などを調べて、サンドバーが見られる日に行くと良いかもしれません。日差しがとても強いのでアクティビティ中も帽子は必須です。（つむじがかなり日焼けしてシャワーが痛かったです…）

Fun but you need lots of upper body strength lol
Reviewed by: Val, 2022/10/15I went with my husband for this kayaking adventure. We are both very new to this so it was a bit hard at first. I think the hardest thing was understanding the map. However after a while it was great. The only down side is that is was windy and going back did take it out of us. However we did have so much fun at the sand bar. We weren’t able to go snorkeling because we we’re going to run out of time. So buy the 8 hours. It’s worth it

2.5-Hour Turtle Snorkel Tour from Waikiki Beach - Hawea Rainbow Sail Catamaran
Good Option

This tour was the best price I found and since it's a short sail, glad I did.

楽しかった！

生演奏があり、ドーナツやドリンクのサービスがあったのもよかったです。
当日は満潮で想像と違ったのが残念でしたが、海はとても綺麗でした！
シュノーケルやSUP、カヤックなども体験することができ、充実した一日を過ごすことができました。

英語が分からなくても、泳げなくても、とても楽しめました❣️
Reviewed by: さんちゃん, 2022/10/15素敵な海を見たくて参加したサンドバーのツアー。英語でのガイダンスが始まった時はどうしようかと思いましたが、ちゃんと日本語でも改めて説明してくれました。そしていよいよサンドバーに到着。皆さん泳ぎは得意なのか、当然のようにシュノーケリングをする流れになり、水着で海の中に。私たち夫婦は2人とも泳げないことから、サンドバーの浅瀬で待っていると、インストラクターの方が浮棒を持ってきて、掴まりながら深い海の方まで引っ張っていただきました。海の中を覗くと、とても綺麗な魚がたくさん泳いでいて、そして、大きな亀が真下を横切る。とても幻想的な時間が流れました。期待以上の美しい海の中を、優しく案内していただいたインストラクターの方に感謝。10日間のハワイ旅行の中で一番の思い出になりました。

Beautiful view with lots to explore
Reviewed by: Theresa, 2022/10/14First off, the employees there are very helpful and elaborate when explaining how the tour works. The views all around were absolutely beautiful, one of my favorite experiences during my Hawaii trip. The kayaking was definitely tiring, even though we only went around the closest nearby reefs and it wasn't a windy day. However, it was really cool to be able to anchor the kayak yourself and decide where you want to go. We were able to see lots of coral (even some new, colorful ones!), schools of fish, and 2 sea turtles! Overall, would definitely recommend this tour to others, and would like to come back one day.

Four Winds Molokini Snorkel Tour - Premier Cruise with Breakfast, Lunch & Drinks
Best trip - especially with toddlers
Reviewed by: Krier family , 2022/10/14Our family of eight, included two 18 month olds. This trip was so accommodating. The entire crew seemed to love their jobs and were very helpful. The snorkel equipment fit perfect with no fogging up. They even had some little rafts that had a window into the ocean that was perfect for kids, including the toddlers. One of our kiddos was still not comfortable on the raft so he was able to view the fishies from the glass bottom. Breakfast and lunch hit the spot.
The on board photographer did a great job capturing our group even though we seemed to all go in different directions. And the cost of our album was very reasonable. It was nice to just focus on the snorkeling and not worry about the camera.
Although we didn’t need it, the crew also offered a short class on snorkeling for beginners.
It was the best day of our vacation.

ウミガメがいっぱいで大満足
Reviewed by: Yama, 2022/10/14 妻と2人で参加しました。事前にサンドバーの潮位を確認して、比較的潮位が浅い日を選んで旅行とツアーの日程を決めました。参加したときの潮位は60cmくらいで、サンドバーの雰囲気を味わうことができました。ボートを降りて、歩いての移動でも、泳ぎながらの移動でも、5分くらいでサンドバーのエリアが終わります。サンドバーのエリアの外側は、深くなっていて、珊瑚もあり、この深いエリアでシュノーケリングをします。たくさんの綺麗なサカナやウミガメに会えました。大きなウミガメが水底で眠っているところや、小さめなウミガメが3匹で泳いでいるところなどが見られてとっても感動しました。私たちは大満足で、１時間以上、フルに楽しむことができました。唯一、水が濁っていたのが少し残念でした。
私たちは自前でシュノーケルとフィンを持って行きました。ツアーでもシュノーケルは貸していましたが、フィンは用意されていないようで、他の参加者はフィンを使っていませんでした。本格的にシュノーケリングを楽しみたい方は、フィンを貸してくれるかどうか、事前に確認した方が良いと思います。
スタッフの方々は、皆さん、日本語も話せて、親切で明るくて、とても良かったです。

BYOB, snacks and floats! This tour has the perfect mix of activists to choose from or chill on their floating doc / cool water ankle to waist deep pending tide.

Captain Bruce Kaneohe Sandbar Cruise with SUP, Guided Snorkel & Transportation
Even with the rain it was still fun
Reviewed by: Annette, 2022/10/13Amazing day even with the rain. Definitely coming back when it's sunny and low tide. Captain Robin and his team were super friendly, amazing and patient. Even with the rain there was plenty of fish and turtles to see. I'm not a strong swimmer and I need to touch the bottom (it's weird I know) but Captain Robin was so accomodating, calming, understanding and patient and took me out to the deep reef area on a floater device and I was able to see the fish and turtles. I'm glad he did and I'm glad he didn't push me when I tapped out early. True champion.
The vessel is clean and has plenty of snacks and hot and cold drinks if you don't want to take your own. You can take your own alcohol and they also have plenty of water toys, paddle boards, floatation devices in a seperate raft.
Make sure to bring cash to tip as they are definitely deserving of any gratuity and the experience is amazing as well. One I'll definitely do again when I'm back next time.

Keauhou Bay Manta Ray Night Dive Tour & Snorkel Adventure from Kona - Sea Quest
Night Manta Ray Experience
Reviewed by: Peter Hauanio, 2022/10/12We had an amazing experience, the mantas were huge and plentiful. Seeing the amount of plankton, no wonder the mantas stays in that area. The crew was awesome, the hot chocolate was great. Finding Sea quest was easy, and getting out to the swim site was quick. The only downfall was when water would get into the mask, and you go to readjust the mask, because there’s a lot of plankton around, could there be a possibility that you may have swallowed some as well, or may have gone up your nose. My friend had a serious sinus infection the day after our tour. She’s doing ok now. Otherwise, we had a blast and will cherish this moment forever. Thank you for the experience.

4.5-Hour Morning Snorkel Tour with Breakfast, Lunch & Drinks from Kaanapali
Kept getting cancelled
Reviewed by: Rosa, 2022/10/11I can’t fault the company too much for this but our outing got cancelled because of high surf so we moved it back and then that outing got cancelled for high surf. It’s a little frustrating because we try to schedule all of our plans for the day in the same area so this really threw off our plans on two separate days. It may have been useful to get a warning on the second rebooking that there was a decent chance that the boat could get cancelled again. I do understand safety is priority and as someone with no boating experience, I really don’t know how far out a high surf can be predicted. But overall, we’re pretty disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend booking boats that leave from Lahaina.

Not great!
Reviewed by: Unknown, 2022/10/11It was OK. Nothing was explained well. Water was cold and did not expect to be hanging by the side of board for half hour to watch them coming at you! Very inconvenient, cold and ill-explained activity. Although staff was helpful. Wished they listened to the individual difficulties to understand. Could have enjoyed better with help.
