Highlight of the trip!

Kaneohe Bay Kayak & Snorkel Self-Guided Tour [Tour Not Available]
Great Adventure
Reviewed by: Patrick S, 2021/08/06My wife and I did the full 8 hour day. We had a blast exploring the bay through snorkeling and kayaking. The staff on sight was helpful and efficient. It was a very enjoyable day overall. The only issue we ran into was knowing which reef was which. They provided a map which was very helpful and pointed out various landmarks to look for. We would definitely do this again.

Captain Bruce Kaneohe Sandbar Cruise with SUP, Guided Snorkel & Transportation
amazing experience

Moana Swim with Turtles Tour - Kid's Friendly Waikiki Snorkeling Cruise
Tour time was cancelled but they found us an even better alternative.

A couple days before our trip a representative of Hawaii Activities contacted me to let me know the time we booked was no longer an option offered by the company. They rebooked us with a different company for the same day, at an earlier time, without drinks :(, for the same price even though the Moana company charged more than the one we originally booked. I appreciate this so much because as we were boarding, we saw a disappointed family at another dock who had their trip canceled with not even a notification. The boat just never showed up and when they called the company they were told they had to cancel due to COVID. Things happen but a notice would have been nice. Luckily for us Hawaiian Activities/Veltra not only notified us, but made alternative arrangements for us. I would definitely use this company for bookings in the future.

A great day out at the sandbar
Reviewed by: Beatrix, 2021/08/06Never play at the sandbar before and this was SUPER FUN! the crew was fun yet professional. Perfect length of time to be at the sandbar. As for the snorkeling, it was good, but we got kicked non stop from the people in front of us, LOL. Not the crew's fault obviously. Just a note to self for next time, will give myself some space from the people in front of me. Just a suggestion, not sure it is feasible or not... adding slide will be better. But all in all, it was a great time and thank you for doing what you are doing!

Waikiki Snorkel with Turtles Cruise with Beers & Cocktails - Ke Kai Catamaran
Fun activity!

Kaneohe Bay Kayak & Snorkel Self-Guided Tour [Tour Not Available]
could have been better
Reviewed by: Jess, 2021/08/03when we went to check-in, they told us to wait for 2 hours because it's too windy. Our check-in time was at 8am and we had to wait until 10:30am. I would absolutely not recommend going in the morning because this side of island is very windy, rainy, and weather cannot be expected at all. Weather app tells you it won't rain but it spontaneously rains, especially in the morning. Also, water doesn't get high enough to kayak or snorkel in the morning often because of this. I don't even understand why they even have morning session to book tho. They totally could've sent us an email in the morning before we arrive, so that we don't have to wait there doing nothing for 2 hours, which was very unfortunate. Anyway, we waited and did kayaking and self-snorkeling, which I also hoped there was an instructor leading the kayaking or snorkeling but wasn't. everything was verbally told and self-learning. (kayak rental staff/instructor was extremely kind, I really liked him. nothing was his fault, it was just more the system how they work was not the best.) They did not recommend to go to sandbar, in fact they say going to sandbar is advanced and do not recommend for first time kayaking people. Then why do they even have it on their activity title? you expect fun kayaking to kaneohe sandbar and beautiful snorkeling, but in reality, we did not get to go to kaneohe sandbar, only coral reefs. overall, I don't regret doing this activity, just wish it was better. Also, 4 hour renting is way enough. we only did about an hour and half and was able to go both reefs and snorkel there. Giving 4 stars only because we went there for our honeymoon activity and it was fun between two of us no matter what, but if not, I wouldn't be much happy and fun with it tho.

Molokini Crater & Turtle Arches Snorkeling Tour & Snuba Dive - Aqua Adventures
Sea turtles!
Reviewed by: Jess, 2021/08/02I got to see multiple sea turtles and it was amazing. Staff were very kind, funny, and helpful throughout the activity. We couldn't go to Molokini because of wind which was shame, but I still loved it and enjoyed a lot! Seating at the front deck of the boat was also a pretty cool experience. They also had a photographer! We paid to get the photos and was super worth it. Thank you!

Captain Bruce Kaneohe Sandbar Cruise with SUP, Guided Snorkel & Transportation
Worth the time & money!

I appreciate how our local staff emphasized the importance of keeping safe the reef & the animals who call the ocean home. We got access to paddle boards and delicious coffee! Ocean Encounters Manta Ray Snorkel Tour - Sunset & Moonlight Cruise from Kona
Close to Nature - REALLY Close
Reviewed by: Ravenclaw, 2021/08/02This experience is one of a kind - having manta rays come right up to you as they feed on plankton in the bay! We were provided with a wet suit (top only for adults, body suit for children), snorkel, and mask.
Once anchored, you will slip into the water at the back of the boat, swim over to the lighted surfboards with handles, grip the handles and let your body float flat on the surface. They will give you a pool noodle to help with this. The manta rays will come right up to the surfboard and gently roll over as they feed on plankton that the light illuminates. I will add that it may seem like a short amount of time (about 30 minutes), but by the time they brought us in, I had started to get cold and my arms started aching from holding the handles the whole time. It was worth it for the experience.
If you are not a strong swimmer, they will offer to help you.
All the members of the crew on my boat were great! Very friendly and helpful. Thank you so much!
My one concern is regarding the number of other boats and people also participating in the same activity. There were quite a few and my concern was for the safety and protection of the manta rays. However, it does seem that the manta rays are not in danger and gain something out of the experience themselves because it provides a better opportunity for feeding that they would not have otherwise. The crew also show a great respect and love for them as well.

Kaneohe Sandbar Private Pontoon Boat Rental & Snorkel Cruise Charter
Awesome experience!

Some snacks and drinks were provided, you can BYOB. Floaties, snorkel gear, and a paddleboard were offered. The sandbar was beautiful! Highly recommend this to anyone!

Big Island Manta Ray Night Snorkel Tour Adventure on a Hawaiian Sailing Canoe
Just....WOW
Reviewed by: Chris , 2021/08/01The whole experience was well done. Captain Danielle and her crew mate were knowledgeable, kind and helpful. We saw tons of mantas doing endless barrel rolls inches from our masks!!! The boat ride is brief and we spent plenty of time in the water on the light-board. FYI- You need to be able to climb up a 3-rung boat ladder to get out of the water, it went fine with our tour but I could imagine that might be tough for some. Well worth the time and money!!

Hawaii Manta Ray Sunset & Night Time Snorkel Experience from Kona - Iruka
Fantastic!

AMAZING TRIP!! Definitely worth it!!

Got to the boat and quickly got out in the bay. We had TONS of time at the sand bar. I recommend bringing a floatie or ball of ton want. We joined in with the volleyball they brought which was so fun! We stayed there during lunch so when we were done eating we went back out.
Saw more sea turtles than I can count! Even saw some on the sand bar.
Snorkeling we had plenty of time and all equipment was provided.
Definitely one of the best excursions we did while there. We definitely do it again!

Not covid safe
Reviewed by: Sheila, 2021/07/31While the tour itself was great- we did see dolphins and turtles- this company has no regard for covid protocols. They pick you up and I asked prior to see if they enforced masks on the bus- as that is the law. They assured me they were. When we got picked up the driver wasn’t wearing a mask! When I asked him he basically ignored me. Half the passengers weren’t. My family double masked but with no windows open it was very unsafe. If you want a safe experience- I would not pick this company.
