The song says"Catch a wave and your sitting on top of the world" I DID IT!! On Feb. 13th I had the unique chance to learn how to surf. Let me say I am 65 years old and our(my) instructor Stacey did it all right. I had good "pre-flight" instruction and indeed got up on 3 waves. I did not stand up, but the feeling of being on a board on my knees was remarkable. From check-in to instruction to surfing..it was all ONO. Mahalo guys it was SUPER.

Q. Are you required to wear a life jacket?
A. You do not have to use a life jacket for surfing, however, there are life jackets on site that you are more than welcome to use.
Q. Do I need to be able to swim to participate?
A. Yes, you will have to know how to swim to participate in this activity.
Q. How big are the surfboards?
A. The surf boards used vary in size and are chosen based on the weight and height of the participant. The average size for starting out is in the 10 to 11 foot range.
Q. Will there be time to surf on our own after our lesson?
A. After your lesson you are free to continue using the equipment and can return it to the Action Sports Maui office when you're done.
