Aloha Becky, Thank you for your feedback, and sorry you felt there wasn't enough interaction with the crowd. With all the Covid guidelines in place, there are several interactive segments in the Luau format that we can't do right now due to social distancing. Those are the segments when we invite guests on stage to learn the Hula, and also the Tahitian segment but we couldn't do that when you attended. We are looking forward to getting back to our normal format, so I hope you can return one day to experience our luau once things get back to "normal"...We appreciate you choosing Germaine's Luau as a fun activity to do while you were on vacation here. My family and I had a good time. The two guys were attentive, and knowledgeable. The only thing is the pictures- we were a part of 6 and the pictures that I got were the same over and over again. The pictures are not worth it. Also I would advise to give dramamine to anyone in your party with the most minimal motion sickness.

How could we vacation in Hawaii without going to a luau? We were in Maui during winter break, so things were very busy. This luau was the only one I could find with openings. The show itself was very fun and interesting. It gave us some background about Hawaiian culture and history. The food was just ok. All drinks are included (even alcoholic ones). It’s definitely pricey, but overall it’s a fun Hawaii-specific experience.

Germaine's Luau was very entertaining for my family and I. However, there was a lot of sitting around and waiting for things to happen. We were met with a mediocre box of lettuce and fruit to start with, there was some entertainment and then 1.5 hours later we were able to get other food; buffet style. The food was delicious but by the time my kiddos were fed, they were cranky and had enough. I am happy to say that I have been to a Luau and experienced the food and entertainment.

It has a lot to do with the strict guidelines in place from our State Government that we have to follow, from the Check process, to how we serve the food, and it all takes time. I hope you were able to enjoy the scenery by the ocean, perhaps the beautiful sunset! I'm happy that you enjoyed the food as a luau should also be relaxing and entertaining...away from the hustle and bustle of the resort area. I was disappointed with our overall experience at the luau. The food was mediocre and the show seemed “cheesy” although we did have great table side service. I would say save your money. The most exciting part of the show were the fire dancers, but they performed at the end of the show and only for a few minutes.

Overall a great experience worth the money to go 10000ft above Waikiki. The crew were professional, but really friendly and help to boost the mood. They are hilarious and really try to get to know you better. Do note that photos by the crew cost an additional 30 dollars.

Excellent pageantry and making educational entertainment fun for the whole family that includes history of the various South Pacific tribes together with an excellent orchestra, singing and an outstanding master of ceremonies. The buffet food was fine but you go here to enjoy a majestic recreation of Hawaiian tradition!

What a neat idea to use wet & wild for this event. I expected more for $155. The food was cool & the lime was closed by the time I wanted to go back for more desert. The piece of cake was so small. )1”inch square)

Everyone involved in the parasailing was super personable and engaging! Noemi and Rachel at the shack were super nice and relatable during check in and for the pictures! Diego and the captain made sure we were all good before and after the excursion! We were normally supposed to go up to 1000’ but because a few customers did not show up the captain let us go to the max height of 1200’!! Super cool! Would definitely go again!

Old Lahaina Luau - Maui's Most Authentic Hawaiian Luau Dinner & Show

I'd suggest to arrive early to get free parking on site. They have a wheelchair accessible facility so easy to maneuver to your table and seating. Staff was very friendly and informative on explaining the meal and the different ingredients used. It was a nice warm evening in early December when we attended. Loved the entertainment. They do a few dance numbers during the early courses of your meal. Once dinner is served and cleared, the final floor show begins about an hour before closing.

Once in a Lifetime Experience

This is our first time parasailing and I admit, we were all nervous, but the captain and her crew made us feel safe by telling us all the pre-cautions we need to do. The ride to the take-off site was fun. The actual take off was smooth and the view from the top was awing. This is once in a lifetime experience and I am glad we did this. My 8 year-old son had a great time as well and want to do it again. Highly recommending this activity. Thank you for such a wonderful experience and not to forget the staffs who checked us in that were very accommodating and patient in answering all our questions.

Experiencing Germaine’s Luau is a must-have on everyone’s bucket list when in Oahu. It’s a True Polynesian experience, Hands down. The professionalism of the entertainment is nothing less than Beautiful. Everyone was beautiful and they set the tone of a family environment when I was there as well as my entire time on the island.

英語が話せない二人連れでしたが、受付の方が良く対応して頂けました。パラセイリング最高！また何かあれば是非参画したいです。また、HGVCULBのメンバーですので、宿泊はHGVC、ツアーやアクティビティはVELTRAさんにお願いしようかと思っております。

Funny activity. Long time to get food

It was fun! Waited a long time for food though. We missed a hula hula class or some activity that allowed people to dance and participate more.

Thank you so much for your feedback, and I'm so sorry that it took so long for you to get your food. It's been a little challenging for us with all the safety guidelines in place during this pandemic. Even the dinner process takes a little longer because our Servers have to pre-plate the items on each plate, and set them up for guests to "grab and go", and so it takes a little longer to serve everyone. We don't do any audience participation type activity while guests are going through the dinner line, but I believe what you heard was our "People of Polynesia" presentation, where our dancers come out and present each of the costumes that represent, Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, and New Zealand with a little dance for each native island. Now that some of the restrictions have been lifted, things are slowly getting back to normal, so I hope you will be able to come back and visit us again some time in the future.!! Super bumpy and scary experience

Do not book sunset tour if you are sensitive to the feeling of weightlessness and sea sick. The driver makes the ship super super bumpy, which is unnecessary and they only care about the profit. I was feeling extremely unwell and asked if they could send me back and then continue the tour, but the driver kept ask me “do you want to cancel everyone” and kept saying I will have to pay for everyone’s tour. I will not do the parallel sailing so it should save them time to send me back but they just kept making fun of me with no empathy. After the trip I asked if I could get partially refund as a observer since I didn’t do the parallel sailing and saved them time and strength , which is reasonable , but they just denied my request.
I took other ship tours and all of them are fine, but this one is a immediately NO. Especially the driver said he could not understand my English made me feel kinda under a racist circumstances.

Easily the best Luau on the island. Real hands on experience for the whole family.
This was certainly the highlight of our week in Hawaii. We stayed at the Hilton Lagoon Resort in Waikiki. Our condo overlooked their Luau which we watched twice from our balcony. I can only describe their Luau as trip to McDonald's. It was big and all but was certainly nothing special and nothing personal. They seat about 400 people with most tables seated far away from the stage. Compare that to our experience at Toa Luau and it was like fine dining as compared to a trip to McDonalds. Toa opens up with hands on experiences for everyone. While the guests do not get to climb a coconut tree they do show how it has been for hundreds of years. Guests are given the opportunity to peel off the husks, crack a coconut, and shred the meat. The above ground cooking oven was quite interesting. From there we started with the stage show and took a tour of the Pacific Islands. This is the Luau you want to attend, you will not be disappointed.
