Informative Nature Walk
Reviewed by: Hawa F, 2015/09/21The hike was advertised as a "hike" to the bottom of Mount Waialeale. It seemed more like a very bumpy van ride to the start of the walk deep inside the rain forest and more of an informative nature walk/stroll. I expected to see more on this "hike", so we were a little disappointed at how short, easy and unexciting the stroll was, but the only reason I still give it 4 stars was ONLY because our guide, Paul, made the entire trip pleasurable. He's very informative, gave us lots of information and history and he was fun, polite and very enjoyable. The 20 min ride on the unpaved trail was VERY bumpy. When I called, they said it's really not that bad, but it was quite bad. I'm surprised they allow pregnant women on this van ride. Bring LOTS of mosquito repellant and proper water/walking shoes you don't mind to get muddy.

Guide was great
Reviewed by: jon, 2015/04/24We had Paul as our guide and he was excellent - full of information and stories and jokes. Our young kids loved him. The hike itself was interesting and memorable, showing a different side of the island than we had seen before. it was not as breathtaking but gave us appreciation for things we overlooked - some plants and animals and historical things that really round out our knowledge of the island. Would recommend as an easy and fun half day trip.

Rainforest Hike
Reviewed by: Ron, 2014/08/05Great trip and very informative. Paul was very knowledgeable and entertaining and it was great to see the top of Mt. Waialeale as it is not visible very often. The hike was very casual and not at all taxing. This was a nice way to spend half a day.

Kauai Rainforest Hike
Reviewed by: Michelle W., 2014/02/22This was a beautiful hike once we arrived! We were bouncing up and down in our seats for at least 30 minutes on our way to begin the hike.The rode was very rocky and full of huge holes.This tour is not for people who get motion sick or car sick.
The tour guide was friendly, smart, and fun.

Kauai Hiking Tour - Rainforest Adv.

Pros: The guide picked us up at our hotel. He was a modern day "flower-child" no doubt and that made it a bit more interesting and actually more fun that it would have been. I have no doubt he could survive in Kauai and never shop for food; never eat at a restaurant :). The road up is REALLY BUMPY and that's fun for kids. If you have a bad back, pregnant, motion sickness, small bladder or other health issues this is NOT for you. If you like to hike and are adventurous, this is the tour for you. Our guide munched on the local plants ALL the way up and back. He was VERY knowledgeable about the plants, berries etc. He was also very funny. He suddenly at a red berry and then said hey take this berry and leat and if I get sick give that to the doctor :) (He was joking and it was funny) He showed us all sorts of medicinal plants, tasty berries - what to eat; what not to eat.
