A lose for US

This was the third time that we went on this tour. The previous time were a lot better. The driver was a good guy except he had other things to do with the company and it showed. The best time was the tour of the Arizona and the National monument that included the Arizona and the Bowfin, etc.

The Missouri was a bust. It was too short and we had no time to explore the ship. Only the main deck and that was short lived. Last time we had the time to tour the entire ship. The same issue for the Air Museum. Not enough time for a good tour. Based on our past experience, it appeared that the tour was shortened by approximately two (2) hours.

In addition, I was thinking that the best way to do the tour is in reverse, Missouri first followed by the air museum, and concluding with the Arizona. Just a thought based on our third visit.

Salty

We have been to this Luau twice before and had a great meal and the show was fantastic both times. On this visit, the show was great, however, the pork was extremely salty and none of us ate the pork. That was not a good thing since the pig is a big part of the Luau.

The Second Time

This was the second time that we had attended this event. The first time was in 2010 right after we got married on the beach.

This time, we brought another couple as told them just how great of an event that it would be and you would be sorry if you did not attend.

After the Luau, they both agreed that it was worth the time and money. The shops are great, the events are wonderful, the food is superb, and the show is fantastic.

I would recommend this Luau to whomever I see and/or states that they are going to Hawaii.

Last but surely not least, the lady (Bev) that was assigned to us for the evening was just the cherry on top of the Sunday. She needs to be praised for her wit, professionalism, her personality, and maybe even her dance (I would give her a 8.5).

May you continue to provide the, "Best Luau on the Island!"

Once again, "We will be back" and thank you.

Hawaii-September 2010

Makani Kai Helicopter Tour – The Makani Helicopter Tour was a great experience that everyone should pencil in their calendar. I would sincerely recommend the one (1) hour tour and not a minute less. The staff was very knowledgeable, historical, and articulate. The pilot was very professional in regard to his overall skills and concern for his passengers. This was Five (5) Stars all the way.

Atlantis Submarine – In general, the Submarine was fantastic except for the following:
1.Too many screaming children.
2.The sound system needs to be upgraded since the noise from the kids had a significant negative effect in the overall quality of the presentation.
3.The orator did not articulate the quality, tone, and/or volume required for such a large vessel that was fully occupied. It was difficult to understand her presentation

Therefore, the Atlantis Submarine voyage required me to lower the overall scores to 4’s instead of 5’s for both events.

We would participa

Lovely Luau

We reviewed this Luau on the internet prior to our arrival and felt that this was the one and we were sincerely not disappointed. In fact, this was our second Luan during our stay and I assure you that this one is and was the best.

Not only was our Luau experience the best the drive to and from the event on bus #5 was fantastic. The driver was U and the guide/orator was Pompani (I think). You should have at least ten (10) Pompani’s since he made the experience a time to remember.

He was courteous, experienced, and a real performer. He was able to make the trip to and from one to remember. In addition the Luau, performance, food, and location were fantastic. We would sincerely recommend this to anyone that we will interface with if they want places to go on their Hawaiian vacation.

Please let Pompani know that he made the evening one to remember and do whatever it takes to keep him on your staff.

Dinner for Two

The Sunset Dinner Cruise was a pleasant experience and we would recommend this event to anyone who would ask and/or we knew that were planning a visit to Oahu.

The food was served hot and was excellent. The entertainment was fair. The Cruise along the coast line was fantastic. The crew was courteous, professional, and informative.

Based on the time of the year, the only thing that I would recommend is that the dinner should start a little earlier so that you have more time on deck to view the sites and take a lot of photographs since night falls pretty quick.

Yes, we would do this again on our next trip to Oahu.

History in the Making

My father was stationed in Pearl Harbor for four (4) years commencing one (4) month after the attack. I wanted to at least have a hands on experience as to what he went through and the conditions during that specific timeframe.

Jim was the consummate tour guide. His knowledge of the "inside" and side-bar stories of the Pearl Harbor attack, many focusing on the US Army Air Corps participation, enhanced all of the stops we made: the USS Arizona Memorial, Wheeler Field, Schofield Barracks, Fort Shafter and National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl National Cemetery). These stories fill in the spaces that most of us have in our knowledge of the attack. In fact, I was extremely impressed with Jim’s knowledge in areas that I had not heard and/or read about over the years of conversation with my Mom and Dad and/or studies associated with this part of our history.

I especially enjoyed Jim’s setting the scene at all of the stops. He wants to place you in that place at that
