We have been to Maui so many times but never had tried the sunset cruises that are available, and there are quite a few. But after some research we decided to try the Pride Of Maui Sunset Cruise, and we are glad we did. The crew were polite and made sure we were taken care of. The buffet was good, and the drinks were not watered down like some of the mass events we have been to. Chatted with the captain and got to ride along with him on the way back which made us feel like a part of the cruise as well. The views are spectacular and we were lucky to have almost a cloudless view the whole trip. We went in September and the weather was perfect.
I would highly recommend the Pride for your next adventure. Price was cost effective, and if you have kids they will love it.

My husband, daughter and I took the sunset cruise earlier this week and loved it. The crew were fun, knowledgable and very accommodating. The food was fantastic....not cheese and crackers but real culinary treats. I have been on a previous sunset cruise with another company and, although the cruise was fine, the service and food were very much lacking. I highly recommend Trilogy. They are professionals and it shows!

We ended our trip in Maui with the sunset dinner cruise. It was perfect because it was a very relaxing night. Before we got on the boat, it was a little unclear what we needed to do with our Veltra vouchers, the man working there sent us on the line with out getting our real tickets needed so we were sent off the line to go back and get those. Not a huge deal, but maybe more of a clear direction when people get there could avoid that. The drinks were yummy and the food was pretty good. I tasted my boyfriend's steak and liked it better than my Mahi Mahi, so I would say go for the steak instead ! A tasty cheesecake was served for dessert as well! We got hit by one huge wave at the end which was kind of scary because the boat tipped a lot, otherwise it was smoothe sailing over all and a beautiful experience.

Wife and I really enjoyed the cruise. The crew was great. They were very attentive to everyone making sure we had a drink or were just doing good. They work their butts from the time you get on board to the time we get back. Nice to get picked up at our hotel so we could have a few drinks and not worry about driving. The food was great and a good variety-ribs. a little sushi, chicken, veggies, crab balls (sure i missed something) were all good and fresh. The adult beverages were first class. Not often you do one of these where they offer top shelf liquor like Oban and Macallan as well as other similar liquor and local beers etc.

Based on reviews, my expectations were pretty high. The only thing high was the cost and the brutal 30-40 MPH winds. This cruise should have been cancelled. The day before the Dinner Cruise I received a call to confirm my reservation. The weather unfortunately for 4 days was rain and high winds. The day before the wind was very strong. I asked about the wind conditions and was told no problem as they sailed to a calmer protected area. On the day of the Dinner Cruise we showed up and the wind was howling. You could not even wear a hat. The boat is very nice, the crew was great and attentive. The Captain even said Ma'laea Harbor was the windiest place in Maui. He joked that the salad may blow off the plates. He actually was not joking, the salads did blow off the plates. We were instructed to bring a light sweater as the evenings could be cool. By the end of the trip we needed full ski suits and gloves. Everyone tried to gather in the enclosed part of the boat to escape the wind and cold. The Trilogy out of Lahaina may be a better option as the wind is blocked by the mountain range. If you book, just make sure of the weather forecast. I can envision this being a very nice experience, but due to the wind and cold, it really should have been cancelled.

The Pride of Maui sunset cruise was the highlight of our trip to Maui! The crew was wonderful and welcoming and the drinks were plentiful. Dinner time rolled around and was served buffet style. Everyone was obliging and the food was tasty. I highly recommend the chicken and the onion tartlet! There were live musicians who played fun Latin jazz the entire evening, and the top deck plays more variety for the hip crowd. Needless to say, the whales were amazing! There were so many of them! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and Pride of Maui could not come more highly recommended. This would not have been made so easy without the booking process at Veltra. They made it super easy and we were happy with the customer service.

My wife and I have just returned from a dinner cruise beyond compare.
It all started with a warm greeting at dockside. Appetizers and non alcoholic beverages followed- the alcoholic drinks included in the price were available after we had cruised out of the harbour,
We had the perfect evening for this cruise. There was some mauka showers early on, which led to a double ended brilliant rainbow. And the crew dried all of the outside seats for later use. Drinks and more appetizers followed as we cleared the harbour under power. Fortunately, the wind was up, but not to strong to sail. ASK TO SAIL! I did, and after the sails were raised, I was given the helm and the compass course. Although I have sailed many times before, it had been several years since the last time. When we reached our anchoring location for dinner, the crew expertly took over and settled all of the sailing rigging.
After watching and photographing an amazing sunset, dinner was served. What a meal! Top quality, lots of choice, and abundant quantities of everything. And there was comfortable table seating for everyone, previous review notwithstanding. Drinks were served at table by the efficient and very friendly crew.
What I really liked about this cruise is that they take a maximum of 32 people, which allowed for easy interaction amongst all of the crew and guests.
The boat was spotless, and the 'heads'-washrooms - were clean and stocked with luxury products.
This is quite an expensive cruise, but worth every penny of the cost.

Mario, Becka (sp?), and Cap'n Linda did an outstanding job of making us feel welcomed and appreciated. They (the crew) were friendly, courteous, and genuinely happy to have us on board. I have no other sunset cruise in Maui with which to compare this event, however, I can recommend this cruise to you all without reservation. (Another couple we met on board had been on Teralani before, and they said Queen's Treasure was much better...for what it's worth). The food was good...hors d'ouervres, but substantial enough to fill. Meatballs, tuna roll-ups, cheeses, crackers, fruit, veggies, dips, and some deli meat. Drinks were sufficient for the evening. I recommend NOT paying extra for the premium bar, 3 drinks are plenty (even for the seasoned professional, such as I), and even so, they weren't keeping track of those who did, or didn't pay for the premium package, so drink at will! The boat has a max occupancy of 49, we were scheduled with that many, but only 43 showed up. Plenty of room, drinks, and food! Mahalo!!

It seemed as though the staff was just trying to rush through their shift so they could get home. It was about 90 degrees outside and the staff were all dressed in formal wear and sweating like crazy. Considering the fact that the condition/cleanliness of the boat was mediocre at best and that the chairs were cheap plastic patio chairs bolted to the upper deck, I think the staff would have been better suited in shorts and short sleeve shirts. Then, maybe they wouldn't have seemed so miserable and rushed to get done with their shift. Also, when my wife and I booked the dinner cruise, we weren't told we would be seated with another couple. I think we should have given the option of being charged less to sit with strangers. It definitely was not worth the nearly $200 for my wife and I.

CONS: It was a super hot and muggy day. We were all pouring sweat and looking forward to finally getting some A/C but then we were told that we would all be on the roof top. While I appreciate the view, we just started meting. We understand that the crew can not control the weather but why could we have not had the option to be on a lower level on days like that? We could see all of our salads sitting in a warm room and it was wilted by the time it came out. Some of the staff looked unclean in terms of their uniform. Which concerns me about what the kitchen looks like. The food was terrible, the chicken and Mahi Mahi was as dry as could be and neither my husband or myself could eat the fish. I thought that there was going to be dancing but there was no room unless you went below and just made your own dance floor. The worst part was that you have to sit with people at your table that you do not know. We were not well matched up. This was our honeymoon and we did not expect that we would have to curb our conversation or affection to make the much older couple feel comfortable. We paid way too much money for this and we feel we definitely did not come even close to getting our monies worth. We did like how they served us a Mai Tai right away when we sat down but would have preferred to pick what we wanted and not have that count as one of our 3 drinks. We found it tacky that we were given a check at the end just to remind us to pay gratuity.
PROS: Our waiter was friendly and made sure we had what we needed. The bartender was great, good personality and drinks. The live music was nice and the singer had a great voice. The style was perfect for the cruise. The view was wonderful while we were cruising and it did cool down once we were out to see.
