Activity Provider

FAQ

Q. What kind of shoews should I wear for rappeling?
A. Special traction felt-soled water shoes, that you can hike, rappel and swim in, will be provided for your tour. You'll do about 100-200 yards of walking from the van to the base area on a gravel or dirt road, which be muddy or dusty. Sneakers and sandals (Flip-flops are not ideal) are ok to wear on your way to and from the activity. However for safety reasons, not during the activities. Also please keep in mind that they will get muddy or covered in red dirt, so wear something inexpensive and washable.
Q. What happens if it rains?
A. The tour will be still operated since there is rain in the rainforest every day. When very rainy weather causes water levels to rise too high to safely use the waterfalls, we use dry stations a safe distance from the watercourse. The tour operates in a protected valley away from the ocean; unlike most other outdoor tours, it's very rare for us to cancel due to weather.
Q. What should I bring with me for the rappeling?
A. Bring a towel and a change of clothes to change into after the tour. You can bring a waterproof camera or video recorder with the understanding that the rugged and wet nature of the tour can damage fragile devices. If you lose a device in one of the pools, it's not possible to retrieve it. Snacks and bottled water are provided during the tour.
Q. Are there bathrooms at the site?
A. Yes, there are two flush toilets on-site at the gear shed, and two private changing rooms. Once at the falls, we ask that you exit the streams and pools and "water the plants" in the surrounding forest. Also, there is one stop along the Hana Highway.
Q. Can I use my own backpack during the Rappeling?
A. No, but a pack that's intended for rappelling in water will be provided.
Q. What should I do my valuables?
A. Please keep your valuables to a minimum, as it's possible for your items to become damaged or lost. Small items will usually fit in the waterproof kegs provided. Bring these items in a sealable plastic bag, as it possible for kegs to leak or break.

Do not recommend to leave your valuables in your/rental car. You can bring your personal items or valuables with you to the tour van. If possible, leave valuables (just bring the minimum stuff) at your resort/hotel.

The activity provider does NOT assume any responsibility for your valuables and/or personal belongings.
