Reviewed by: Erin, 2016/08/28Overall and enjoyable day. Catamaran was nice and comfortable. Guides, chiefs and barman very good service. Snorkeling was fairly good, lots of sea turtles to be seen - guides very helpful in locating and ensuring everyone had a chance to view them. Unfortunately on the day we went we were unable to go to molokini due to rough waters - I was very disappointed about this as a big reason I booked this was to see the under water crator. The tour guides however did their best to accommodate for another spot. Breakfast, lunch dessert and alcohol were all served - food was good. I was pleasantly surprised about the amount of catering/alcoholic drinks that were provided given the length of the tour

Best Snorkeling i've done
Reviewed by: AlexM, 2016/05/04This was a great cruise out to the best place I have ever snorkelled, the water at Molokini Crater is really clear and there are lots of fish we even saw a Reef Shark. Turtle Town was great too and we saw a couple of Turtles while we were there, it is just a shame that most people don't listen to guidance and surround the poor things.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and when I was feeling unwell made up a nice drink to help. I would definitely recommend this tour to other, however check before boarding if you will make it to the crated or not as they won't tell you until you have left the dock (experience of some friends who went a few days before us).

pride of maui snorkel

That we do on maui every time we vacation we have gone , but pride of maui is the best experience yet. We will definitely book on this boat again .. captain Scott made it a very safe and enjoyable experience.

Most Enjoyable Trip
Reviewed by: CTJ, 2015/08/23The entire crew on the "Pride of Maui" was wonderful and caring. The trip was awesome. The weather was in our favor. We went out to the Molokini crater and snorkeled while there my son and I tried snuba for the first time and loved it. The guide for that was very knowledgeable and helpful. The videographer was very concerned to get everyone's picture. We moved to a different location to see the turtles and again the crew was concerned that everyone got to see a few of them. The food on board was also enjoyable. The only downside for me and my kids was that it didn't last longer.

Best experience of Maui!
Reviewed by: Justin Daniels, 2015/05/24My wife and I had never gone snorkeling before, and during our honeymoon, we had planned many activities, but this was the one we weren't sure how it would turn out. We decided to do the snuba diving, and our instructor was amazing. He was laid back and helped encourage us when we were first nervous in the water. After a few minutes, everything got easier, and before we knew it, it was time to come up. We were also able to snorkel at Turtle Town, and got to swim by a sea turtle, and that was a super unique experience. Of all the things we did in Hawaii, this is the one thing that I would be sure to do again when we come back.

Molokini Snorkel

The whole time I was wishing I had researched better and booked on a smaller more intimate boat. Hardly any fish at Molokini then went to rocks south of Wailea and saw much more, but had just been there the day before on our own.

Not the best snorkeling ever, but tour was fun
Reviewed by: Jesper, 2015/02/09Molokini is not as stunning a snorkel spot as some say: there's only a select variety of fish and there's no impressive coral reef. The water is very clear though. But there are definitely much better snorkeling options elsewhere to be found.
We had a muddy water day for Turtle Town sadly, but I got to see a turtle nonetheless, which was nice.
The tour organisation was class though, well-spirited. Breakfast was decent, lunch was very good. And there were a lot of whales to be seen! I must say that even with Molokini not completely living up to its reputation I had a good fun day. Time well-spent.

Absolutely Magical!
Reviewed by: Letitia, 2014/12/07What an experience. Little island in middle of ocean. I never imagined that I would be snorkeling in the middle of the ocean and actually enjoying it. Loved every minute of it. My 11 year old did not want to leave. Bring your video cameras as well or rent them. We brought back the experience to enjoy all the time.

Wonderful snorkeling experience

Unfortunately bad weather didn't allow us to go to molokini island but they took us other snorkeling spot which was beautiful. All the crew members were very helpful & caring. It was nice to see that every crew member was making sure everyone is safe and enjoying . Food & drinks were just awesome . Me and my family are vegetarian and most of the places we get very little or less options. But on this cruise we could enjoy lot of food like vege burgers ,pasta ,salad & juices. Overall very efficient service . I must recommend this cruise .

Molokini Snorkel AWESOME!
Reviewed by: barbara schafer, 2014/12/03The day started off well as a greeter showed us where to park. A quick walk to the boat where we filled out the waivers and were able to see the sun come up behind the island in the distance. We formed a line to board (very organized) and took a boarding picture.
Unfortunately the weather at Molokini was not favorable, so we went to two alternate stops. At the first we were able to see four sea turtles! (along with the associated tropical fish cleaning them). The second stop was closer to the rocks which was pretty awesome to watch the waves crash and the reef was much shallower. A few different fish were there as well.
There was a slide for the children and the adventurous adults. Lunch was served after the first stop. Hamburger, hot dog or chicken and some side items.
Throughout the day Ryan (the videographer) took excellent underwater shots and generally just had a very pleasing demeanor. He seemed to really love his job (who wouldn't, right?)
After the second stop the bar service opened and there were crew members walking around offering refills. Talk about service! As we rounded back to the harbor the wind and waves picked up but the captain still kept the boat stable.
It was a very enjoyable snorkeling experience and I would highly recommend it.

Molokini Snorkel Delux Cruise
Reviewed by: Barbara Angeja, 2014/11/29This was a great snorkel cruise. The crew was outstanding. The Pride of Maui boat was very clean and comfortable. The food service was great. It was served in a very professional way and very appetizing. There was more than enough food to eat and drinks to drink. The alcoholic drinks when snorkeling was over were in abundance. I have been on some snorkeling cruises where you get only ONE complimentary drink. The staff members did everything in their power to make our snorkel cruise enjoyable, safe, and accommodating. In fact there was a new girl (don't know her name) it was her first day on the job and she did everything she could to please the patrons and other crew members. I definitely recommend this cruise to everyone.

Molokini Snorkel Cruise
Reviewed by: Barbara Angeja, 2014/11/29All of the staff members on this Molokini Snorkel Delux Cruise from Maalaea Harbor worked very hard constantly to make sure we were having a great time. The boat was very clean, the food service was outstanding -- presented in a professional and appetizing manner. I would greatly recommend taking this cruise. There was no time wasted when anchoring for the snorkel tour. The crew knew exactly where to find the anchor (this was not the case in some of our past cruises in different islands. Don't know the name of the new girl on the crew (it was her first day) she was very beautiful, polite and cheery and did everything she could to please the other crew members and all the guests. There was enough food and drinks for everyone and access off and on the boat to go snorkeling was very easy compared to past snorkeling experiences that I have had.

Worth every penny! A "must do" in Maui

It took nearly 4 days to convince my husband that we should go on an organized snorkel trip. I was tired of looking for great places to snorkel and knew the cruise would provide what we were looking for. Thanks to the wonderful crew, it was one of our most memorable days in Maui. Our boat captain was fantastic and the staff did a great job explaining the days events. Everything was well organized, timely and relaxing. We can't say enough great things about the delicious meals, cold drinks(alcoholic and non-alcoholic), breathtaking views, fish and turtles! As luck would have it, we even got to see a few whales. We enjoyed the experience and look forward to doing it again. Aloha!

Unfortunately, the water at Molokini was rough - so they substituted Coral Gardens instead. Turtle Town was great - saw several turtles. I liked how they posted someone over the area where best to see them - so you knew where to go. Coral Gardens was good as well. They offered wet shirts onboard for $10, which is nice if you get cold easily. They also offer Snuba for $58 - you get to do that for about 30 minutes. Best to reserve ahead as they only offer a limited number. I felt they really work hard to give you a great experience - while keeping safety in mind.

Molokini Snorkel Deluxe Cruise

The people in boat are so friendly and very helpful for us. They provided us breakfast, lunch and alcohol. All are good in taste. In between they are coming to us and asking for cookies like that. I need a prescription glasses of -5 they have provided that snorkel also. We felt really good at the snorkel place too. And main think i booked through Veltra.com, these people are really amazing, they are calling me before 1 day and making sure that i have this activity and letting me know where i have to check in and all details. I really liked this website. Even i have a time problem some how they are managing and scheduling to other day and finally making that activity happening. Really good website for activities booking and had fun in Snorkel too...

Snorkeling adventure with 3 kids *FUN*
Reviewed by: Krish, 2014/11/17We are a family of five with 3 kids under 4.Call us brave or crazy,we wanted try snorkeling for the first time.All we have end of the day is a wonderful memory of our first snorkeling adventure.With a 4 year old on a wheel chair, we couldn't have asked for more.The crew was just fabulous.They also had super cool floating boards for kids which has a transparent area for viewing.kids could float with adults and they too can enjoy the ocean wonders. My 4 year olds were quite thrilled seeing the corals and turtles.I would call it a success adventure when every one in the family including the toddler had their own share of ocean fun and adventure.We had just enough time to snorkel on both the locations despite 3 kids and adults taking turns.Here again,it was the crew which made everything possible for us.If you wanna try snorkeling with small kiddos, my hands raise for this one!

Molokini Snorkel adventure

The crew onboard the Pride of Maui was outstanding and I was very impressed with their professionalism, enthusiasm and dedication to making all of the guests feel very welcome and comfortable with the activities on the slate. At no time did they ever shortcut the safety and well-being of anyone on the tour. I have snorkeled in a few other ideal locations around the world and this one definitely tops the list. The aquatic arena at the Molokini crater and at turtle town was amazing and we really enjoyed our experience. Many thanks to the crew and the terrific job they did.

Great Snorkeling Trip
Reviewed by: Tianxiong, 2014/11/09This trip is a morning trip to Molokini and then Turtle town close to west Maui. The price is quite reasonable since it includes Cruise, continental breakfast, burger lunch, drinks with alcohol or non-alcohol, and snorkeling gears. It has snorkeling noodles and boards for those who are not good at swimming. They also have lifeguard, so pretty safe for this trip. The total snorkeling time is two hours: one hour for Molokini, and one hour for Turtle town.
Molokini is wonderful, many colorful fishes and coral reefs there. It’s the crater of a hidden volcano, of course extinct volcano.
The next stop is Turtle town, which locates close to west Maui. It’s hundreds meters off the shore. We see several turtles under the water. We followed a turtle and enjoyed swimming with it.
By the way, the scene from the cruise is fantastic. We have a broad overlook of Maui island and the valley in west Maui.

fulfilled our expectations
Reviewed by: rob, 2014/11/09We have been on similar tours before so had some idea of what to expect. The boat was a little tricky to find (to the left of the main harbor entrance).
The crew were excellent, very professional, friendly and organised. They had a lifeguard in the water for the snorkeling, which makes this a great choice for families.
The snorkeling spots were very busy but we saw lots of great fish at Molokini, and we saw 4 turtles at turtle town.
The food was very simple, but they have a lot of people to feed so it needs to be.

Bring your own life jacket
Reviewed by: Not a snorkeller, 2013/11/03My kids had a great time as did my husband, but I did not. I can swim, but am not used to deep water (35 feet) and the waves. I asked for an adult life jacket and was told to just hang on to the rope on the back of the boat. I should have asked another crew member as Tiffany and Jason were awesome, but the guy I asked at the back told me it wouldn't help. So I was left panicking at the back of the boat while my husband went out with my two young boys. In hindsight, bring your own life jacket if you or your kids need one to make sure it fits and works for you. I'm sure my boys will go again, but I'll stay on shore.

Great Trip!

Fantastic Tour!
Reviewed by: Island Explorer, 2013/05/30My friends and I went on this tour because we heard really great reviews from other vacationers, and we are so happy that we went with Pride of Maui. When we first got to the boat to check-in, there was coffee set and breakfast waiting for us the moment we stepped on the boat. The crew on board were really interactive with all the guests, getting to know us and making sure we had a great time on board. Snorkeling at Molokini was incredible! The water was crystal clear and we saw tons of fish. After Molokini, we had a BBQ lunch that was grilled on board and delicious! It was a full tour but luckily there was tons of open seating on the top deck, which was awesome. I also chose to SNUBA and that was AMAZING! Reed, was a great SNUBA instructor and made you feel super comfortable in the water. Harold was the videographer who also put together a fantastic video and photos that you can purchase at the end of the trip as well. I am so happy we went on this tour and I will remember it forever!
