Arrived a bit before 4:30. Staff was quite rude that we were so early.
Also, everything was dragged out..far too long. Entertainment was too late for our granddaughter to enjoy as she fell asleep.

This was a wonderful experience! Our instructor picked us up in a very clean van, there were 5 of us total. The drive to the ocean was beautiful and only about 10 minutes away. When we got there we put on our gear, eveything that you 'll need is there, fins, masks, wetsuit, etc. in the sizes you ask for. They even had prescription masks for people with glasses (even high strengths, a 5 for me). I was a little nervous because i'm not a very good swimmer, but the wet suit helps you float and there is a surf board like thing with rope handles that you can hang on to. Put I had a great time holding on to that and just looking down the whole time. We saw lots of tropical fish, coral reef, and sea turtles (huge ones!) just floating next to us. The ocean water is warm too, so don't worry about being cold, the pool at my resort was colder. Okay and last but not least there were no sharks. I would recommand everyone at some time to see Hawaii for the air. You truely can't see the beauty of the Island any other way. Our flight was so smooth, my son dooze off for a moment. Our pilot was excellent. My daughter has car sickness sometimes and she was fine. Our pilot was knowable about the Island and had very Interesting stories. It is a must do for everyone at any age. Thanks agian.

I am afraid of heights and I was really afraid that I would have to close my eyes, like when I go to some of the i-max theaters. This was so great, it was peaceful and calm. I loved every minute of it and wished that it had lasted longer and my eyes never closed. I think that it is a great way to see the coast line, but also the mountains and the poi fields in Hanalei. I would do it again.

This flight ended up being the highlight of our trip to Hawaii. At first we were a bit hesitant as my wife got sea sick on the boat trip the day before. However she had no problems on the flight. Bruce, our pilot did a wonderful job!

Absolutely the BEST Luau anywhere!

I've lived in Hawaii and returned for many occasions, and Smith's Luau is absolutely the BEST Luau on any island at any price! The setting is absolutely gorgeous, the staff was very friendly and outgoing, the food was absolutely the best and there was plenty of it! Open mai-tai bar was a great value, dinner entertainment was fun but not overwhelming and the show afterward was a great Luau value. The thing that impressed me the most was Mr Smith, the owner, was available, visible and active in every part of the evening, from un-earthing the pig to singing and entertaining at dinner. I would HIGHLY recommend this event for anyone who visits Kauai - you WON'T be disappointed!

What a beauiful experience to see the island of Kauai from above.Pilot Bruce is such a great guy to fly with and his wife Ellen is so great at check-in time.It is wonderful to see parts of the island usually unseen by ground travel. We loved it! Thanks Bruce.

This tour was awesome, and Bruce made it pretty interesting for us. The view was just spectacular, and we especially liked the Waimea Canyon. Being from Arizona, we didn't expect to see a similar geographic formation in Hawaii! Do this tour!

My family was not to impressed when I booked this but I have to say they all loved this activity. It was way more fun then I even expected. Our ages are 16,18,20,22,47,and 48. We all agree we would do it again. The staff could be a little more energenic. It was early in the morning and they seemed tired. but over all I would highly recommand this to all ages between 10- 60. great adventure. so much fun...........

Smith's Family Garden Luau - Polynesian & Fire Show, Dinner and Open Bar

Everyone Had A Great Time

We highly recommend this luau - the whole family from age 7 to age 75 enjoyed it. The food was awesome, the gardens were beautiful and the dancing was amazing. I love that this is a family run business, and you can tell that they all really invest their time and care into every detail. Even grandpa Smith was out in the food line making sure the buffet was tidy and fresh. I was really impressed by the quality of the dancers! Some might say, though, that this is a bit on the "schmaltzy" side - it might not have the cosmopolitan feel of some of the other luaus, I certainly wouldn't say it was a romantic or upscale sort of thing - but I liked the old-time feel of it. Also, don't rush to get there, we arrived at the very beginning and took the tram ride through the gardens - then waited about an hour for the entertainment and refreshments to start.

Beautiful grounds and good food!

We had a fabulous time here at the Luau! The food was really good, especially in comparison the luau at the Polynesian Center on Oahu. However, the show wasn't as good as the Poly center. You can also walk the grounds before the luau and then see them dig up the pig for dinner. The grounds were gorgeous. We even got to see a runaway pig! He somehow snuck out of the pen and they hadn't been able to catch him. The Flora all around the gardens were just magnificent! Definitely a must see!

We enjoyed the cruise and the beautiful flowers and foliage but were disappointed at the actual "Grotto" since we couldn't see inside the cave. We weren't aware of this until we were at the site.

The cruise was short but sufficient for the price. I recommend taking the 3:30 cruise and then going to the Smith Luau right beside the docks. Excellent site and entertainment and also worth the price.

The Smith's Luau was amazing, great food, drink and the best entertainment I have enjoyed at a Luau , the Pork was delightful, and a very nice choice of foods to pick from. I really was impressed on the whole evening as the Smiths really have it down to a tee ,for organization, also great customer service and never ending smiles ...the grounds were spectacular !. I would definatley go back . Aloha !
