The crew is very friendly and gets to know you as you make your way out to the coast line. Then they provide you with a spectacular tour of the coast while sharing knowledge about the history of the coast line, Hawaiian culture and general ocean sea life. They stopped to show us spinner dolphins as a pod crossed our paths and pointed out other sea life native to Hawaii. Awesome Tour All Around!

Majestic experience on the sea

My family, including four kids, had a wonderful time on the Na Pali coast boat tour. The crew went above and beyond to make it a memorable experience. We saw bottlenose and spinner dolphins and tons of whales up close. The views of the coast were mesmerizing. Although the weather did not cooperate for snorkeling, the crew made up for it by letting us jump off the boat and swim. It was a day to remember and a highlight for the kids!

Whale Watch Ocean Rafting Tour from Lahaina - Temporarily Unavailable [Dec-Mar]

The crew was outstanding, the vessel was perfect for viewing, and the whale activity in late January '23 was second-to-none! I highly recommend this experience to both novice and seasoned whale watchers. Pro tip: if there is any shot at rain, invest in a poncho. Regardless of weather, this trip is definitely worth it.

3-Hour Small-Group Private Whale Watching Cruise - Aloha Kona Tours [Jan-Feb]
Awesome day of whales and dolphins!

We had a great afternoon on the boat. Took a seven and two year old out with us to see the whales and the captain was very accommodating to both of them. Once we got the area where the whales were we saw a couple different pairs breach multiple times and certainly didn't need binoculars to see them. On our way back to the harbor a few bottle nosed dolphins decided to swim out front of the boat and in the wake for about 10 minutes which was every bit as cool as seeing the whales.
I'd highly recommend Aloha Kona Tours.

My husband and I both agree this has been our favorite activity while in Hawaii (we’ve done several activities on 3 different islands). There are no words to describe the beauty of the coast!! Cameron & Tony were knowledgeable and very fun!! We saw several whales & spinner dolphins, which took our trip to the next level for us! Snorkeling was cancelled because of rough water, but we didn’t even notice because we were having so much fun!! Thanks Cameron & Tony for an awesome adventure!

We had an excellent time.. We were looking for a casual fun experience for Christmas evening and this trip delivered. This is my 6th time in Maui and have participated on many excursions and this is on the top of my list. Crew was fabulous and attentive. Captain was experienced and knowledgeable. Felt safe the entire time. The cost was appropriate for what we received...and as a reminder, always tip the crew

Kauai Na Pali Coast Snorkeling Tour & Sea Cave Adventure by Makana Charters
Wonderful trip!

Went on the afternoon trip with my best friend, we went as a birthday outing for him. The trip was SPECTACULAR, the cliffs and the water were gorgeous, we saw a a whale, the captain regaled us with facts of the coastline, and saw one of the sea caves. It was a little rough and we did not go in but it was still just as amazing all the same. We did not do any snorkeling (as it would be a little late in the day to do so) but we were permitted to jump out of the boat to swim around. It was fun, had a nice little meal. I will definitely go with this tour again if given the chance. A+.

What a fun experience! The crew was very attentive and thoughtful from beginning to end. They made sure everyone was well taken of. I was also impressed with how clean and well cared for the catamaran was. You can tell that SeaMaui takes a lot of pride in what they do. I booked the excursion as part of my daughters 30th birthday celebration on Maui. There were 5 of us and we were all able to sit together which was nice. Everyone had a great time and unanimously would recommend it. Mahalo SeaMaui .

I couldn’t experience more, than I had on our boat trip to Lanai
It’s perfect size of boat if you want to see views without other passengers heads in front of you, actually hear interesting and fun stories from captain and feel close to water.
We saw so many dolphins, colorful fish, turtles and learned a lot about these islands. As a bonus I got stung by a jelly fish, but I’ll take it as a very unique experience lol
If you’re very picky about food, bring your own, but for me it wasn’t important at that moment. They have different drinks and water, so nothing to worry about.
Both captains are super friendly and knew what they do.

This cruise was perfect for our 6 and 10 yr old kids. We really enjoyed the friendly staff and the snorkeling!
Id also like to add if you get even a teeny bit seasick i highly recommend taking some motion sickness medication. It was choppy and boy did I feel it the last hour or so!
Despite that, I'd do this cruise over again in a heartbeat.

Captain Bruce Kaneohe Sandbar Snorkel & Private Speed Boat Rental

Loved this trip! Kaneohe sandbar is one of the most beautiful spots on the island. Our captain was friendly and gave us a bit of history of the area on the boat ride to the sandbar. We loved the private option, just the Captain & 6 of us total. It was great to have our own space. We brought some floats and had a relaxing afternoon.

I WOULD BOOK WITH MAKANA AGAIN

I do not know where to start. On September 20th we boarded the boat with Captain A’a and his daughter Ri (Ree). They were professional, knowledgeable, fun, and worth every penny. Whether you are serious about snorkeling (like me) or just looking to see the sites (my husband) you will enjoy this excursion.
On land they will divide you up into groups and then Captain A’a will explain the do’s and don’ts while on his boat (by the way do not bring bananas or granola bars as snacks – he will explain). He is serious about the don’ts. The Captain and his daughter are very knowledgeable of the area (ask them anything) and they are so much fun.
I would definitely recommend the Makana Charters and I highly recommend Captain A’a and his daughter. Thank you both for a fabulous time and making us feel like your friend – not just a customer.

This was a truly epic experience we got to not only see the Na Pali coastline but we got to learn so many interesting facts from the very knowledgable crew. the views were magnificent, and the snorkeling was great we got to see some sea turtles and we got to see a very impressive pod of spinner dolphins as we started the boat ride. I highly recommend this if you are spending some time in Kauai

We prefer private charters and snorkeling trips and Aloha Kona Tours did not disappoint. We had such a good time on our Sept 9th cruise we booked a night time Manta Ray cruise the very next day!
On our first cruise we got to see turtles and dolphins and actually got to snorkel with a 25 foot whale shark. It was outstanding! The Captain is excellent and the Crew is very friendly and knowledgeable! The Captain was accommodating to our request for our outing to make the trip very personalized.
On our second night Manta Ray cruise we enjoyed a stunning sunset cruise and tour of the city from the water. Then we snorkeled with the Manta Rays for about 30 minutes. They have all the gear and the Crew was so accommodating. Three of us got in the water and swam with the Rays and our fourth person was a little shy but the Crew made sure she got to see the Rays up close without leaving the boat.
Both trips were truly unforgettable and amazing! The boat is beautiful and comfortable.

Fun for family with 3 kids

My 10 yo and I tend to get motion sickness so we followed their advice and took our meds (Bonnie/dramamine) the night before and the morning of. We had no issues! I think it helped that we were (randomly selected) for the largest of the 3 boats. It was a loooong boat ride. We went about 2.5 hours before we stopped to snorkel and have lunch. There isn't a lot of room but you can bring a beach bag with essentials (I wish I would've brought snacks). The ride was long but also GORGEOUS and fun for kids to look at. We saw a school (?) Of dolphins swimming along with us, monk seals on the beach, and of course the Na Pali coast. Snorkeling was fun and laid back. My 6 yo was able to just use her own goggles (regular pool goggle) and their floaty (similar to a pool noodle). She had a BLAST. My 12 yo and I even jumped off the front of the boat several times. We saw lots of fish and 2 sea turtles. I definitely recommend this tour! If you book - choose the morning ride!!
