野生のイルカウォッチング＆シュノーケリングツアー ＜朝食・昼食付き＞
車椅子でも乗れる船でシュノーケリングツアー♪

車椅子の夫と小学5年生、2年生の息子たちと参加しました。
申し込みの決め手は車椅子のまま乗り込むことができる大型の船、ということでした。
私自身は学生時代ダイビング三昧だったので、船に乗って行けるポイントでのシュノーケリングやイルカウォッチングは子供たちにも体験してほしいことでしたが、車椅子にはなかなかハードルが高く。。今回このような形で行けてとても嬉しかったです。
ただ、集合時間が朝早く、Waikoloaから運転して行くため6時台にはホテルを出なければならず、息子たちは終始眠そうだったのが残念ポイント。。
それでも、貸していただけたシュノーケル＆マスクとフィンが快適で、初めてのオープンウォーターでのシュノーケリングであったにも関わらず全然怖がらず、二人ともとても楽しんでいました。ヌードルという、細長～い浮き具もお気に入りでした。（今回夫は体調もさほど優れずシュノーケリングはしなかったため、やりたいと言えばサポートしてくれたのかどうかは不明です）
子供たちはライフベストを着用、私はこのヌードルだけでしたが、充分浮いていられました。ポイントのお魚は、正直沖縄などよりは種類も少なかったですが、子供たちの初めての体験としてはよかったと思います。
行き帰りにイルカも見られました！
行きに朝食（何種類かのパンと果物やヨーグルトなど）を食べて、シュノーケリングの時間中好きな時に上がって来て昼食のハンバーガーを食べる、という感じでした。昼食で出たタロイモチップスが子供たちのお気に入りでした。
帰りは大物（イルカ、クジラ、マンタなど？）を見つけるために、行きより海岸から離れての長めのクルーズでした。残念ながら遭遇はできませんでしたが、この時間に配ってくれたクッキーが美味しくて、次男はおかわりしていました。笑
半日のツアーでしたが、とても楽しい思い出になりました！
欲を言えば、集合時間遅めのランチだけのツアーがよいかな、と思いました。
ちなみに私と子供たちは酔い止めを飲んで行ったせいか船酔いはしませんでした。夫は少し気分が悪そうでしたので、普段酔わない方も念のため酔い止めをお勧めします！

ヒルトンワイコロアビレッジでのルアウは初めてでしたが、カルアポークも非常美味しく、伝統ルアウ＆フラ・ハワイアンショーは、高価ではありますが、生で見る価値満載でした。そして、飲み放題ということもあり、お酒を飲みすぎましたが、非常にエンジョイ出来ました。また、訪れたいですね。

This luau was everything our family could have hoped for. It felt genuine and true to Polynesian history and tradition while still having fun moments and many laughs. The music, dancing, and fire aspects were all top notch. I have also heard that typically the good at luaus is so-so, but the buffet was fantastic as well as the drinks and dessert. Excellent all around. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

It was nice overall. The staff are friendly and worked hard. Food taste was okay. Generous portion. The boat is small and with waves, my 5 years old got sea sick and was throwing up.

It's unfortunate that your five year old experienced motion sickness. Our vessel is a sixty-five foot long double decker catamaran. The good news is that most guests do not experience motion sickness. For guests who know they have a propensity to experience motion sickness we recommend an over the counter remedy such as Dramamine at least an hour before boarding. ポリネシアンダンスが多く感じました。フラは少なめですが、ファイヤーショーは見応えがありました。食事はとてもおいしかった。ただ、開催場所がわかりにくかった。オーキッドのスタッフに聞いてもあまり知らないようでした。正面玄関のドアマンに最初から聴けばよかったと思いました。

時間通りに行きましたが、案内があまりなくどうしていいかもわからず、ドリンクも何も分からずあたふたしました。日本語が通じないのは仕方ないけどスタッフも笑顔もないし。雨が降り始めてからの案内もなく部屋に戻りました。
食事もハワイ料理だと思いますが、味もいまいち。少しガッカリでした。

The site for the luau was gorgeous. The food was excellent. We couldn't see the show at all because we were in the back and had kids , although none of us could see it. We left early. We haven't gotten our pictures because we didn't get a chance to do it quick enough. The old method of bringing to the guests was better.

食べながら見るという感じですが食べ物、飲み物の種類と量もちょうど良い感じです。
Alii Seatだと優先的に入れてブッフェも先に取れるし飲み物もテーブル担当の方が直ぐに聞いて持って来てくれます。
ショーは派手さはないですけど飲み食いしながら気楽に楽しめる感じです。
英語がわからなければ雰囲気で楽しむしかないですけど。

客船は豪華で、軽食も情報通りでした。
お手洗いも割とキレイですし、広めでした。
出発直後は青い海、広い海に感動しました！
船から見るハワイ島の大自然も最高でした！
波の高い時期だったのかもしれませんが、とにかく揺れがすごく絶叫マシーン並みで、船内に体調不良者続出で、もらい◯◯しないように海を見続けていました。
1時間以上激しい揺れの中進んでもクジラは見つからず、Uターンして出航して2時間半経ち、出発地点にかなり近くなってきたところで遠くにクジラが見えました。一緒に参加した2人は具合が悪過ぎて何も見られず私の撮った動画で見れたことにしよう、と納得した、と言う感じでした。
私は船酔いしないタイプなので大丈夫でしたが、船酔いする方にはあまりオススメではないかもしれません。

Unfortunately motion sickness is a factor anytime anyone goes on a boat. The vast majority of our guests do fine. Sending well wishes that you experienced motion sickness. There are over the counter remedies for motion sickness like Dramamine and Bonine. These medications work best if taken at least an hour prior to boarding.

64歳と57歳の夫婦で参加しました。
２月の旅行だったので鯨に確実に遭遇できるだろうと期待に胸を膨らませて乗船。
潮吹きや大きな息遣いも目の当たりにした約2時間のクルーズでした。
もっと大きな鯨が近くで見られると思っていたので少し残念ではありました。
船が揺れるので軽食は食べませんでした。
貴重な経験ができて良かったです。

For us it was a true Luau. Not just a Hawaiian show. From weaving headbands to teaching hula dancing. The show was very personable with audience interaction. Food was very good, brought out to the table instead of a buffet bar. It was an all day affair for us. Went to Waimea Falls first and spent some time there and then to the Luau. MC was great. Highly recommend. We stayed on the North Shore so it was very convenient!

Hawaii Loa Kohala Luau & Dinner Show with Open Bar at Fairmont Orchid Waikoloa
Didn't meet expectations; there are better luau's -- skip this one

Decided to try this luau after researching luau options on the big island, and unfortunately it fell short of expectations.
There are three main areas I judge in a luau, and I'll expand on each category for this place; location/setting, food/drinks, and entertainment.
First the location setting. Although located at the Fairmont orchid resort, a beautiful and well kept property, the luau itself was "makeshift" utilizing cheap plastic chairs and tables and placed between the golf course and tennis courts, over a mile away from the coast with no sunset or real ocean view. Most other luau's I've been to are more like restaurants with permanent structures set right on the coast.
I had read rave reviews about the food, and while it too fell short of expectations - it wasn't all bad. I'll definitely give it credit for a large selection and variety, but the food was overall "meh." The poke, fish, shrimp and chicken were good but the beef and pork were awful. There was no actual hog roast; the pulled pork they served was clearly not from a recently dug up roasted pig - and it tasted disgusting; this was the biggest let down as you expect amazing pulled pork when you goto a luau. They lacked variety in drinks, so not much to choose from in terms of wine (only "red" or "white") or beers (a few cheap varieties in cans, no IPAs), and the mixed drinks were also limited in ingredients (for example, they couldn't make me an old fashion), but they had the basics to make most decent cocktails. My biggest complaint with the drinks is that the line was long and clearly a bottleneck only having 2 bartenders making drinks for the entire group. Other luaus I'd attended always had the basic drinks ready to go so you could grab a basic drink at anytime if you wanted.
As for the entertainment; also very meh. Not a big production (again, due to the "makeshift" nature of this luau), but it contained all the basic elements to not fall completely short.
