Great way to spend a morning on the big island

If you like kayaking and snorkeling, this is a great trip! The tour guide was very informative and actually took pictures for everyone on the trip. It was a smaller size group which was perfect for this kind of excursion. The snorkeling stops were great. The only thing is it is hard to get on and off kayaks when on the water! I fell off once when trying to take off my shorts. I want to do this one again when I go back.

Evening Volcano Explorer - Black Sand Beach, Night Lava Viewing & Wine Tasting / From Kona
Can't go to the big island without seeing the active volcano!!!

There aren't many active volcanoes in the whole world so this is a bucket list type thing. You can't get that close to the active volcano but you can get close enough to see the lava (about a mile away). Plus, you don't want o get too close anyway! (not healthy). The side excursions on the way to the Volcano National Park were good. Went to a coffee farm, winery, southernmost bakery that sells those great malasadas, the lava tube, the steam vents, etc. It is an all day excursion but well worth it. It's amazing how many climates there are on this island and you really see the differences as you go on this excursion. The museum at the volcano national park was very informative. Great excursion!!

Haleo Luau at Sheraton Keauhou Bay - Oceanfront Kona Luau Experience [Closed] / Standard
Luau is a must do when visiting Hawaii

I've been to a few luaus. This was a pretty standard one. The show was worth going to see but the food was only decent. I think they oversell these things now....there are so many people attending that it takes forever to get through the buffet line and the food is cold when you get back to your table. But the show was very good.
