Kick off your vaca with this trip!

Reviewed by: Amanda, 2021/07/14

We had a great time with Jim! The trip was very informative and we learned much about the history of Hawaii. I would suggest taking this tour at the beginning of your vacation so that you can explore in-depth some of the places we visited. The winery and tea tour was amazing! I learn so much about tea and the winemaking process in HI!
Thanks so much!

Big Island Highlights Tour - Volcano, Waterfall, Black Sand Beach, Coffee & Wine

Great tour

Reviewed by: Jayjay , 2021/05/29

I went solo. There were 2 tour guides. They were informative and funny. I threw up because of road sick and maybe too much caffeine and food coma in the morning (I assumed - I ate my bf&coffee b4 the tour started and ate their bf & tasted their coffee again). The lady guide took care of me well. Other people in the trip were nice too. Some lady gave me a motion sickness pill and some lady asked me how I was feeling. Thanks!

We went to 6-7 places. I like the black sand beach the most. Walking through the volcano tube was fun. But another volcano attraction was not I expected because we couldn’t get too close to the volcano. It was dangerous Lol. So I couldn’t get a clear pics of the crater.

Big island is a black island (in my opinion) because of dry black lava spreading all over the island.

They picked me up in the morning and dropped me off at the Kona airport in the evening. I flew for a day trip. Call them when you arrived at the airport. They need a reminder. I think my tour guides were Gary and Gabbie. I bought this trip to celebrate my bday. Great serviceThank you!

Big Island Highlights Tour - Volcano, Waterfall, Black Sand Beach, Coffee & Wine

Wonderful experience!

Reviewed by: Mary & Lloyd, 2020/01/19

My husband and I booked the Deluxe Circle Island Tour with Kailani Tours online @hawaiiactivities.com a few weeks before we left for our 20th anniversary on the Big Island. We loved our driver/tour guide Alana from the beginning...she was so personable, caring and knowledgeable (a former teacher). The Mercedes van was very comfortable for the 7 people on our tour and we were well provided for with plenty of water and snacks (even with my gluten free limitations). The tour was fabulous, from the Kona Joe coffee farm, lunch/tour at Volcanoes Natl Park, amazing Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, all the way to Rainbow Falls (yes, we saw a rainbow there) and beautiful Akaka Falls! It was great to see the highlights of the island at the beginning of our vacation to get the "lei" of the land so to speak, on the Big Island. This way the remainder of our trip could be spent leisurely exploring the Kohala Coast where we were staying. We highly recommend it to everyone!

  • Kona Joe Coffee Farm tour by Alana

  • Free coffee and snacks at Kona Joe

  • Punalu'u Black Sand Beach

  • Vistas at Black Sand Beach

  • Kilauea Caldera

  • Ranbow Falls

  • Akaka Falls

Great Trip

This was a great tour. We enjoyed historic areas as well as a honey farm, and coffee plantation. The painted church, St. Benedict's, was awesome and our guide, V.... was knowledgeable about all we visited as well as the culture of the island.

Historic Kona, Sacred Hawaiian Temples & Farm Tour

Drew was fantastic!!

Reviewed by: Avocado thief+2, 2018/06/10

Wow! We had the pleasure of taking the historic Kona tour with Drew. It was an amazing day! Drew has an energy and enthusiasm about the island that is infectious! He took us to beautiful spots that were advertised and even a few of his favorites that were off the beaten path a bit. The thing that stood out was the intricate knowledge of the historical significance of all the places that we went that Drew was able to share with us. I’ve been to a few of these spots before but never understood them as I do now and that’s all from our great guide. Drew, I hope you know that you shared with us a memory that we will all hold dear for life!

Historic Kona, Sacred Hawaiian Temples & Farm Tour

Wonderful tour around the Big Island

Reviewed by: Deborah, 2017/07/27

We had a wonderful day touring historic and sacred sites as well as Greenwell Farms and Big Island Bees. Our guide, Kawika, was highly knowledgeable about the areas visited and wove together an interesting narrative of the traditions, the myths, and the historical facts of Hawai’i. His personality fit very well with the people in our group, so it was enjoyable and personable as well. Greenwell Farms and Big Island Bees were beautiful and I bought coffee and honey to take home with me. I recommend this tour. We did a half day, but a full day with Kawika would be just as informative and entertaining.

Historic Kona, Sacred Hawaiian Temples & Farm Tour

Not much to this tour

Reviewed by: Elise Wilson, 2017/06/24

There isn't much to this tour that you couldn't do on your own. Both of the national parks were interesting, but my family and I would have loved to have more time to take them in. The bee farm was also cool - their employees were really enthusiastic and we enjoyed tasting all of the honey. However, the coffee tour was given by a coffee farm employee who seemed to not know much of what she was talking about. Our tour guide from the tour company was honestly the highlight of the tour - he was really knowledgeable and funny, and he definitely made the tour as fun as it could possibly be. However, it felt like he didn't have that much to work with.

Volcano & Kona Coffee Farm Tour with Night Lava Viewing (from Kona / Waikoloa)

Volcano, Coffee, and Turtles

Reviewed by: Sheryl, 2015/08/29

This tour was excellent! I was picked up from the hotel promptly at the time given. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We visited a coffee farm, then went to a black beach to view turtles before heading to Volcano National Park. Lunch and dinner was included and both were good. I had wondered whether doing a tour to the Volcano Park would allow adequate time there, and it was just the right amount of time, staying until after dark to view the lava.

Hawaii Forest & Trail - Kona Volcano Hiking Tour & Hidden Craters Adventure

Well informed tour!

Reviewed by: irene, 2011/09/13

The excursion was extremely interesting and our tour guide Mavrick very knowledgeable also he was concered about the group safety. We where well informed about the history of the creater, lava tube and the coffee tour! The staff was wonderful and extremely polite, took their time for the guest to drink some of the delicious Hula Daddy Coffee while looking out at the beautiful view.
The only downside I had was the ***extremely*** bumping ride as we got closer to the crater, I feel if there was dirt road or pavement all would have been perfect... I also feel because of the rough road and the crater edge no kids should be taken on this tour. Overall, this was an experience I will always remember, Thanks.
