Sightseeing / Guided Tours

We had a great time taking a shuttle up to the ranch and going on the Hollywood Movie Sites 90-minute tour. Our shuttle driver/tour guide was awesome and we loved the T-Rex photo he took for us. We had an awesome lunch w... morehile we waited to return to Waikiki, including a fantastic Dole Whip shake.

The entertainment was top-notch and the food was delicious. I loved the different portions of entertainment that were designed around the various cultures that came together through history to make Hawaii what it is toda... morey. It was exactly the kind of experience and education I was hoping for.

Our tour bus did get stuck in some traffic and was slower due to picking up guests from multiple locations, and while I felt like that luau did their best to hold off on the main event (dinner and show) until we arrived (which I greatly appreciated), we did miss out on getting the full experience listed on the events description (i.e. "Interact up close and personal with your Pacific Island hosts with Hawaiian crafts, hula lessons, coconut husking, fire making, weaving, tattooing, and more. ") So if those activities are important to you, you might want to consider booking private transportation to the luau instead of taking the group shuttle option to make sure you arrive in plenty of time to get the full experience.

It is what it claims. You sit and ride up the river to a short hike to a natural feature where water drips over cavernous undercut. On tour they explained a few things but the acoustics where I sat weren't great to un... morederstand everything. Between that they sang some Hawaiian songs. All fine. Just wouldn't expect too much.

You need to do something about large groups that get very drunk, are disrespectful towards the event and its participants. Loved the show but it was a distraction and didn’t allow us to enjoy the whole show experience.

I had a great trip to the North Shore with my shuttle driver. He picked me up first and then two couples from neighboring hotels. He did a great job explaining the different areas in Haleiwa to the whole shuttle and then... more dropped the two couples off near the beach. We then proceeded to Waimea Valley where I had a great time hiking to the falls, exploring the botanical gardens, and learning about the Hawaiian culture. I finished early and so he was good with dropping me in Haleiwa early which allowed me to explore the area a little more. Great driver who makes his own shuttle music. Drove us safely in the rain. I would totally take this shuttle again. He is most respectful and is bilingual in English and Japanese.

While in Kauai with family we decided to try the Smith Family Fern Grotto River Cruise, which was an awesome choice of entertainment. We love history and learning about places we visit, so we were pleasantly surprised w... morehen the beginning of the cruise was a full narration of the interesting history and geography of the Waimea River. The crew led us to the breathtaking Fern Grotto and enhanced the experience with beautiful music. On the way back to the dock we were entertained with music and dancing, which was very fun. The trip ended much too soon! The cost was very reasonable. We would highly recommend this trip!
