Neither Google or Apple will know or see your identity.
Should you test positive for COVID-19, those who receive an exposure alert will not know your identity as well.
Alerts & Settings
You will be able to adjust notification options so that they will be as noninvasive as possible.
Notifications will only be triggered if a certain level of exposure has been met.
Cost & Availability
AlohaSafe Alert is completely free and can be downloaded to any smart phone device.
You can download this app for from both the Apple App Store or on Google Play here.
How It Works
- Download the AlohaSafe Alert app from the Apple app store or the Google Play store, and set up the app.
- Using Bluetooth technology, the app will be able to anonymously communicate with other phones.
Devices that have the AlohaSafe Alert app will “ping” each other, and measure the distance via the strength of the Bluetooth signal and the length of the interaction. - Once the app senses a close contact, a secure and random code will be exchanged.
At no point will your name, location, or any other identifiable information be shared. - Should you test positive for COVID-19, and have the app on your smart phone, you will be able to share a notification to the other devices you have been near.
This will allow those you have been in passing or direct contact with to get tested and be aware of their exposure to COVID-19. - For the exposure notification to be triggered, devices you were in proximity to while infectious must meet a minimum threshold of exposure, which is a distance of 6 ft or less for a minimum of 15 minutes.
The 15 minute threshold is cumulative, so a notification will be sent if you were in close contact with one or more positive individuals for a total of at least 15 minutes.
