Kalakaua Avenue will be closed this Saturday at 11 a.m. to make way for the annual Honolulu Pride Parade, which begins in Magic Island, walks, floats, and waltzes through Kalakaua Ave., and ends at the Waikiki Shell, where the Festival kicks off.
Festival gates open at 11:30 a.m., and entertainment begins at noon, with various singers, bands, dances, and drag performances throughout the day until 6 p.m.
The celebration doesn’t end there, however, and in fact it’s already begun.
Pride Month in Honolulu has over a dozen events happening around town in October, beginning with the National Coming Out Day Celebration, which was held at UH Manoa on the 11th.

- Cheer Workshop, 10/19 at 5:30pm across from Hula’s Bar
- Party Bus Pub Crawl, 10/19 ending at the Wisp at 9pm for the official Honolulu Pride white party
- Artists for Social Justice, 10/20 at 7:30pm at the UH Manoa Davis Auditorium
- Pride Scarlet Party, 10/20 at 7:30pm at Scarlet Honolulu
- The Pride After Party, 10/21 at 7pm at Hula’s Bar, right after the festival
- Cherch at Hula’s, 10/22 at 10am
- Pride Pool Party & Benefit, 10/22 at 12pm at the Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club
