Positives: Most of the food choices were great. We also enjoyed going to the Hawaiian Market as there was a wide variety of local foods to choose from. Curb side drop off in front of the "eateries" was thoughtful and appreciated. Finally, when the Thai restaurant were we going to was not open yet, our guide took us to Pali Lookout and an uncrowded picturesque beach.

Negatives: A little pricey ($500 plus dollars for two people for a 4 hr tour). Finally, in Hawaii everyone dresses casually. None of the places we visited warranted our guide wearing a suit. It felt at times as if he was our body guard.

Improvements: We would have been more willing to pay top dollar for a food tour that gave us more freadom to choose. How about making three stops instead of seven? The food tour could start with the Portugese Donnuts, followed by a customer choice. Everyone taking the tour would have to agree on one of the following local favorites (Giovanni's Shrimp Shack on the North Shore,

Many stairs, but worth doing once.

On our return trip to the Honolulu airport, our taxi driver summed up the hike to Diamond Head by saying, "I've lived in Hawaii for 26 years and I've only climbed Diamond Head once!" This is mainly because hiking Diamond Head is no ordinary hike. You're basically climbing up into old army bunkers. At one point in "the hike" there is a very steep set of stairs. While we made it, your legs do start to shake especially when you pause for a rest. The steep set of stairs is then followed by a long dark tunnel. On the plus side, once you make it to the top of Diamond Head, the view of down town Honolulu is spectacular.

My sister and I loved the hike. You will get slightly wet and muddy, but that's half the fun. The walking sticks provided were a huge help especially when we came up against slippery rocks.

My sister & I enjoyed being on a small tour (ten people plus our guide) as it served as an intimate way of getting to know eachother. Our guide, Lani was wonderful. Lani's secret plan for the best viewing of the Arizona Memorial worked out perfectly. Overall, for the Circle Island tour, Lani had an excellent knowledge of Hawaii and its culture. We loved her stories, her unique laugh & her choice of Hawaiian music.
