This was awesome!

Posted on: 2010/10/16

This was probably the best of all the activities I participated in on the island of Maui.

When I initially booked my reservation with Proflyght, I was little apprehensive at the thought of throwing myself off a cliff to soar in the air. But once on site, it was the most enjoyable experience I ever had, and I did not feel any fear upon take off. In reality, there was no jumping off a cliff, but rather a gentle takeoff from a mountainous terrain, where the parachute slowly lifted off the ground and raised us up in the air.

The staff were excellent, and although the time in the air was short (about 5 min), it was exhilarating. I am definitely going to investigate paragliding courses in my hometown so I can do this again.

A great time!

Ziplining is an exhilarating experience. My daughter and I have been ziplining many times before and we enjoyed our time at the Piiholo Ranch in Maui.

The zipline course at the ranch is very well done, and offers something a little different than other zipline courses we've seen: ziplines for two to four people at a time. This was probably what I enjoyed the most about this adventure: my daughter and I could zipline side by side (unless she wanted to speed by me like a rocket by leaning back to get more speed).

The staff were friendly, professional and all-around excellent. The harnesses were above and beyond anything I had seen in the past. They looked more like lazy-boys than harnesses. Anyone seated in these harnesses is assured of being comfortable and feeling very safe.

I had a great time and would definitely do it again.

Hawaii, Maui

Great fun!

This was a repeat activity for my daughter and I. We have travelled to Hawaii in the past, visiting other islands, and we have jet-skied in Oahu on multiple occasions.

This particular activity near Kaanapali was definitely more enjoyable as the circular course for the riders was much longer and wider than in Waikiki. Riders could choose to follow the buoys or flags around the track, or ride around in the middle of the course to do whatever loops and turns they wanted. I enjoyed this as constant circling does get boring after a while.

The water was wonderfully warm, and the day was spectacular with beautiful sunshine.

We paid to have the on-site photographer take photos of us on our jet-skis. This was definitely worth it - we received over one hundred high-quality digital photos (action shots) on a CD for 26$. I would recommend this to those who want to keep great memories of their jet-skiing experience.

Awesome views

We thoroughly enjoyed our helicopter tour of the West Maui Mountains and Molokai. When we had originally booked our reservation, we had reserved a 30 minute flight to the mountains only, but were pleasantly surprised to learn upon arrival that our tour had been upgraded to include Molokai, lasting an extra 15 minutes.

All in all, we had over an hour in the helicopter, which was amazing. The pilot was excellent, providing interesting facts about the island and always positioning the helicopter so that all could see and take pictures of the sights. The Eco-Star was a great helicopter, with wide windows that allowed easy viewing of everything around us.

I definitely recommend this tour to first timers - the mountains are truly awesome to see!

Snuba was fun

Posted on: 2010/10/16

I enjoyed the sail to Molokini on the Four Winds. It was a one-hour sail to the crater, however in that short timespan, I started feeling the effects of the water motion. This was partly due to the fact that we had spent 25 minutes listening to the snuba instructor's instructional briefing, which kept us focused on him, inside the boat. By not keeping our eyes on the horizon during that time, we started feeling queazy earlier than expected.

The snuba itself was fun, although I had difficulty sinking down to the bottom despite the weights. I guess my technique needs improvement. The water was beautiful and warm, and the fish were fun to see.

Both breakfast and lunch were provided on the catamaran. Breakfast was served at 7:30 am, when the boat departed the harbour, and lunch was served at 10:00 am upon arrival at Molikini. It was a little odd to have hamburgers and hot dogs served at that time, and we weren't really hungry due to the queasiness, so we didn't eat. Luckily, I had br

Staff went above and beyond

Posted on: 2010/10/16

This tour was great, although the ATV ride itself was a little short. The water slides were a lot of fun though, and it was a great pitstop at the midpoint.

I was particularly impressed with our guide. He was very friendly and entertaining, and went above and beyond my expectations. I realized upon return to the drop-off point at the end of the tour that I had left my camera in one of the ATVs. My guide, Keoko, took the time to drive back to the ATV site (which was 20 minutes away in the mountain) to retrieve my camera for me. His kind gesture was very much appreciated.
