Not my choice

My husband and I have been to the Old Lahaina Luau and prefer it to this one hands down. Drums of the Pacific seemed corny, as another reviewer posted. The emcee sounded like a barker for a side show..."and now the GRRREEAATT, the FaNTAAAASSSTIC, So-And-So (can't remember the name of the dancer) performing the ...whatever. My brother and his wife, first time visitors, were with us and enjoyed it. We didn't tell them any different so as not to spoil their evening. For first timers, it's OK but if you want culture and history, Old Lahaina Luau is far better.

Almost missed out

I ordered leis for my brother and his wife because they had never been to Hawaii and this would be a nice surprise. Our plane landed a little early so we missed our greeter. Finally caught up with him as he was getting in a car to go home! He didn't know we landed early. (I thought they were supposed to check on that?) The leis were beautiful and my brother and his wife were nicely surprised. I would do this again.

Lei Greeting

I purchased a lei greeting for my brother and his family for their first trip to Hawaii. My niece had wondered if you get leis upon arrival like in the movies. I told her no and would have loved to have been there to see her expression when she received hers. I received a call from them expressing their thanks and how lovely the leis were. They really enjoyed that little bit of aloha.

Ulalena

This was a great show. I had come once before to Maui and saw the ads...tried to get a ticket but couldn't because they were sold out. I promised myself that this time I would be sure to see it. I am so glad I went. I appreciated the pamphlet that explained each of the scenes. Without it I would have been lost. Very entertaining. It has a little of that "Cirque" feel to it and I love Cirque.

Pearl Harbor & Circle Tour

The Pearl Harbor Tour was very emotional. We totally enjoyed everything about it. Our tour was delayed for a short while due to security shutting down everything as an aircraft carrier arrived in the harbor. Our guide, Kanoelani, immediately switched gears and took our bus around the town to see local sites until we had clearance to enter Pearl Harbor again. Kanoelani did an admirable job despite the fact that a group with our tour didn't want to listen or keep quiet so that others could hear. I would not recommend this to families with little children as it is a long day.
