Pretty but didn't need guide.

The Manoa falls really depend upon the time of the year and rainfall level to see if it's a fall or a trickle. The hike was nice enough, although towards the end, it became quite steep and somewhat slippery. I was a little worried as I took a 7 year old, but somehow, no-one fell. I don't know if it was exactly my idea of a rain forest, as the flora is not really that diverse, nor are there any exotic birds or wildlife. It could easily be handled without a guide, I am not that sure that our guide added that much to the hike. It is a public park, so there is no entrance fee or anything. You could probably drive yourself and take your time on the hike. We, however, going with a group walked at quite a steady pace.

Very knowledgeable guide

Our guide was Juan Carlos and he did a great job. Took time with us (maybe because we were the only family since someone else canceled). Nice Bay, I think it was just right for us beginners.

I'm not sure if there was a misunderstanding or what, but our driver ( I also paid for transportation) said that our guide couldn't make it, so he took us on a tour when we got there. I felt the tour was rushed and not very impressive. I suppose for the half day, you shouldn't expect much.

He then took us to dinner a little late, and we were seated in the waaay back of the line, which makes a difference. The tables go to the buffet in order, so if you are towards the back, it's slim pickin's. The buffet itself was average, although considering what we paid, was below average for the price. I didn't get to see anything of the cooking of the pig or anything about the traditions, again, maybe because I was late.

The show, however, was as billed. There were many many different dances, and the dan
