Hawaii, Oahu

No hiking in Oahu

Both activities could be done without the use of a guide. Snorkeling in Sharks bay was great - only suggestion is to wear swim shoes due to rocky conditions at water entry point. This will also allow you to explore the tidal pools without killing your feet. The hike was a total bust. Based on pictures on the web page the hike is on a trail through the forest. We were greated with a hike up a paved path to the waterfalls. This is not what was expected. Although I had to check a box to recommend this activity to someone, I would strongly suggest that you pass on this activity. The cost is not worth the assistance offered by the guide - you are basicallly paying for transportation, and the use of equipment. As for lunch, we were provided a burger and fries, the guide took fries from our oders for himself instead of ordering his own. We were not provide drinks of any kind during the activity.

Dophin observation

This activity was well worth the cost. The crew as great and did everything possible to make sure that everyone had the opportunity to "swim" with the spinnner dolphins and see other unique sea life while snorkeling. Don't go into this activity expecting the dolphins to swim right up to you. They are wild animals. Be content with seeing this wonderful creature in its natural habitat no matter how close they come to you. The two snorkeling sights that were great. Especially the turtle cleaning station. My best advice is to remember that you are being given the oppotunity to see these animals in their natural environment. Listen to the advice of the crew - this is a time for observation, a chance to see what the animals are like when they are not in a confined place. It is not the time to try and touch or chase these graceful creatures.
