Barely saw 1 turtle
Reviewed by: Alex , 2021/05/12Boat was very nice, friendly staff, but we stopped at 1 site for a while and didn’t see any turtles, then when we got to the more popular spot there were already 4 more boats and we only got to see 1 turtle. The staff didn’t come in the water with us either to help spotting turtles. Other boats had at least 1 crew in the water to guide their group towards the right spot.

2.5-Hour Turtle Snorkel Tour from Waikiki Beach - Hawea Rainbow Sail Catamaran
Great Trip!

They not only showed us where to find all the turtles while we snorkeled (saw about 5/6 different turtles surfacing a million times right next to us), they followed a pod of dolphins for a while so we could get a good view and watch them in their element. We drove around the water for a bit before going back as well so you can snack and drink after snorkeling. The weather was amazing and we were the only boat out there (did the 8AM tour) for majority of the time so had all the ocean to ourselves! Some people didn’t/couldn’t snorkel but they hanged out on the Net of the Catamaran with their drinks and still had a great time napping and drinking lol.

Amazing time

Definitely need to be a decent swimmer if you want to be successful at getting to we're the turtles are at but you are provided with life jackets. And the bonus is after your done snorkeling the host give you Mai Tai's and beers on the trip back to shore! I would highly recommend this cruise it was one of the highlights of my trip!

Amazing experience!

The guides/lifeguards/crew were so nice and attentive as well.The mai tais afterwords were the cherry on top. I’m coming back in july and im definitely booking this activity with these people again. My boyfriend recently was involved in a motorcycle accident leaving him blind and with limited range of motion. The crew was super understanding and respectful of our decision to attempt to have him try snorkeling blind. (Yes it was super scary and hard, we didn’t end up going through with it!) But it was their respectfulness and compassion for me ❤️. Totally recommend! Also I did end up snorkeling a bit and one of the guys helped me swim to the turtles and was right there in case anyone needed help! 10/10!!

It was okay, the crew was great.

We were told we would receive a refund. We have not received the refund yet but that also falls on me because I have not followed up. Our snorkeling date was March 16, I am writing this April 10th.

The only down side for me was there were a lot of people in the water which made it difficult to really float and see the marine life. But it was mid day and it was a tourist trip. My daughter loves sea turtles so for her this was a dream! I would do it again but maybe earlier in the morning! Thanks again for a wonderful trip!

Excellent Experience

Because of COVID, our group of 13 were the only people on the boat and once everyone was done snorkeling, they took us out to sail by Diamond Head. So even though I didn't get in the water, I enjoyed the time spent sailing. The rest of the group that went snorkeling, said it was amazing - wish I would have gone snorkeling. Maybe next time!

1st open water snorkeling experience

We boarded the catamaran and set sail for the sea exactly as scheduled. The staff were very informative l, funny, and helpful during the entire time. We got to swim with 1 sea turtle (: overall very satisfied with my experience! Thanks again!
