Sunset Dinner Cruise, superb!!!
Reviewed by: Ms Rosie, 2011/07/02Sunset Dinner Cruise, Cocktails, Dancing.. what a fun night! Let me tell you, seeing a sunset in Hawaii is wonderful but seeing it from the ocean, its like a paint brush painted the skies for the evening. Perfect for that special romantic moment with your loved one!
Unfortunately, I did not see the mystical green flash, but we did see several dolphins and the sunset over the water, magical!
Staff was very attentive and came by my dinner table through out the evening to make sure I was taken care of. Everyone on-board participated in the dancing. Thank you so much for a wonderful Sunset Dinner Cruise!

Wonderful service!

When we decided to go up deck for the view we went back to our table and had our salads waiting for us. The lobster was delicious and they even helped crack it open. The entertainment was fun and engaging and when it came to disembark the ship, it was fast and painless...no line! My favorite part was the view of Honolulu and Waikiki at sunset.

Best night we had in Hawaii!

The crew was great, the view incredible, and the food was top notch. Watching the sun set from the top of the Star of Honolulu was an incredible treat! Thank you and I cannot wait to go again!

Dinner Cruise
Reviewed by: Jessica, 2010/11/21The food wasn't as good as i expected, but i think you are mainly paying for the cruise. the mai tais were great! steak could have been cooked a little more. i dont like crab, but my boyfriend loved it! this is def a great activity for a little romance for couples for a nice evening.

Very Romantic

We had the 3 star VIP with Dom Perignon. Wonderful night. Perfect for couples. And if you are thinking of Proposing, this itinery is perfect. Alo'ha!!!!

I booked the 3 star dinner w/ special occasion feature for my girl and I. The food was great! loved the lobster and steak... our waitress Jasmine was great also! It didnt take very long for us to get our plates.... The view of diamond head was amazing... When it was time for sunset, we headed up to the observation deck, WHAT A SIGHT!!!! We took a couple of photos and one of the other guests offered to take a photo op for us.... After seeing the picture she took of us, we realized what that picture could be! "something much more." as in, a Save the Date type of photo..... My girlfriend has an idea of what I was up to to since i mentioned the photo as a save the date type of picture but shes gonna be surprised when I pop the question in the near feature!!!!! THEN she can finally say that we can use this photo for our SAVE THE DATE picture!!!

Had A Great Time
Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2009/08/22This was our first time to Hawaii and wanted it to make it special. I booked the dinner not knowing what to expect. Come to find out we had a great time. We did the 3 Star dinner with the Lobster and Steak and it didn't disappoint. If you have the money its the best way to go. What really impressed me was the fact that we got caught up watching the view from the outside deck dinner was already served and almost all the guest had finished their meal. Our server Clifford was nice enough to keep our meal in the kitchen and brought it to our table when we sat. The show was great and the audience particpation at the end was fun. They also had a 2 man band playing local island music as we enjoyed our dinner. My wife and I agreed that the next trip(whch we are already planning) will include this cruise again. It's a nice way to see Waikii coastline with Diamond head at the top.

Great time!
Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2009/06/10My husband and were first time visitors to Hawaii and this seemed like a nice thing to do. We got the 3 star package with the celebration plan and definitely had a great time. This was our last planned event during our stay and it was a wonderful way to spend our last night in Hawaii. We were quickly shown to our table and the dinner service went smoothly from there. We went up to the deck above several times to check out the view of Waikiki Beach all the way down to Diamond Head. Dinner was wonderful (although a little messy since we had the lobster) and the entertainment (a jazz duo with a saxophonist for a couple numbers) during dinner was lovely. We came back to our table at one point to find the photo they took right after we boarded sitting in a very nice cover on our table, free with the package we ordered. The show after dinner was quite entertaining, especially when they got everyone in the room up on their feet and dancing in one big mass of people, it was so much fun!

I would recommend this to everyone i know. It was all worth it. My partner and i enjoyed evey minute of it! The food was the bomb! We had 3 star which is a 5-course meal. i even took pictures of the food! Our server Rita was so nice, i always see her smiling and she was very attentive to us! It was so fun!
I will surely go back and this time i'm gonna bring my mom!

The kind of romance we were after..

The food was delicious too. We did the 1 Star package which came with crab legs, steak and mashed potatoes. Everything was better than I had expected it to be. It came with a complimentary Mai Tai which was also very good.
The Hawaiian music was good and the dancers were a lot of fun. My hubby and I got a really nice photo from them too.
I would recommend this to any couple looking for a little romance on their trip to Hawaii.

Great Cruise

The first time was with Navatek and that was a nice cruise but we felt that one was overcrowded (we upgraded our cruise on both trips). The cruise on the Star of Honolulu was much more expensive than our upgraded Navatek cruise so we were looking for a much improved experience.
The Star of Honolulu cruise was VERY personal as there were very few people who upgraded to the upper deck package. Matt and Captain Roy were extremely attentive and a pleasure to be around.
Unfortunately it was very overcast and the ocean choppy for our voyage but the dining experience was first class. The jazz show was phenomenal as well.
The coach ride felt like herding cattle, and at the price of our ticket I would expect a more personal form of transportation (I realize a personal car required an additional upgrade, but would have expected something more intimate than a full sized tour bus). There was little to no information given

Unique Experience

Although the waves were a little choppy, overall I had a great time. The food is great (one star), service is good, and the atmosphere is satisfying. Just a little advice for all the couples out there who want a special "one-on-one" type of evening, spend the extra money to get a table for two. If not, you may end up sharing a table with another couple. I lucked out and the couple that was supposed to show, didn't. This is also a type of outing that is geared more towards tourists. So this may not be so entertaining for many of the locals. It also does get a little chilly, so bring some sort of jacket (for the men), or a jacket/shawl (for women). Overall, I enjoyed the quality and experience this activity had to offer. I would definitely do it again sometime.

Excellent Dinner Cruise!!!

A nice dinner cruise date

We did three star, and it was still good, but if you are really into that person you are with, you should do 5 star (no offense to my gf... next time...) i had a chance to peek the top floor, and it looked really nice inside. Neverthless, we enjoyed ourselves very much. Thanks!

Proposal on Dinner Cruise
Reviewed by: The Travel DRS, 2008/03/29My client called wanting a dinner cruise at sunset so he could ask the woman of his dreams to marry him!
As his travel agent I opted to use Hawaii Activities. We booked the Sunset Dinner Cruise and Tom added the private dinning options with the complimentary professional picture.
I received a picture text at 2:30am from Tom indicating that Conni had said yes, taken by a cruise line staff!
My clients had an absolutely wonderful time with memories that will carry them through their life together.
The Travel DRS will in the future recommend this cruise to any/all my clients as an option for their Hawaii vacation.

Great Fun!

She thought watching the sunset out by diamond head was really romantic - bonus points for me! I never ate a whole lobster before and it was awesome.
