This was a fantastic experience and very unique. Never expected the manta rays to come soo close. Hope my pics come out. Will definitely do again when I come back to the Big Island. Highly recommend for everyone, was a very easy snorkel and NOT scary at all.

Kona Kayaking & Snorkeling Sea Cave Adventure at Keauhou Bay - Ocean Safari's

My wife did the early morning 3.5 hour trip and we loved it. This was the first time that me and my wife had ever kayaked, the tour guides show you how to do everything from balancing your kayak to getting in and out of your kayak in the open ocean. We seen a pod of dolphins on the way out of the bay, that was great, then we followed the shore line. at one point we were able to paddle into a small cave with a blow hole, and then several members of the tour jumped off the cliff over the cave. It was a bit too high for us so we watched. But we were able to paddle out before the rest with one guide and when we were just around the corner the same pod of dolphins swam under and by us. Several of the dolphins were within touching distance of our kayak. My wife was so in awe she could barely get the camera out! The snacks were yummy and the guides wonderful!. all I can say about this tour is "wow" if you have never ever paddled in a kayak befor no problem with on tour your guides will teach you how get in and balance yourself, how to hold your paddle, how to paddle toeghter, how to get in and out of your kayak in open water even if you have never done it before because that person was me. My wife and I had the best time toeghter trying to see everything thats going on around you. After they show you how to do everything you just start paddiling out of the bay with your guides along the coast line. Just as we rounded the corner a pod of dolphins swaw by us they were about 100 yrds away from us but what a treat. We stoped for a short break and they showed us how to get in and out of the kayak in the open ocean, then we went cliff to the blow hole paddled in and out of the cave jumped off the cliff then went around to another bay to have lunch and snorkle. Waipio Valley Wagon Tour & Big Island Tropical Waterfalls Adventure [Closed]

This last August 2007 our family had one of the best times on this wagon ride. Our girls 4, and 8 had the best time and my dad of 80 and mom of 78 said this was the highlight of the whole vacation. The ride is bumpy at times but the wagon has nice padded seats and the wagon has springs on it to make it a better ride. On our trip our guide was great she told us all about the history of the valley, we sucked the nector out of some of the flowers seen wild horses crossed two small streams and seen how the locals still live off the land today in the valley. On out trip the Island was having a drought and all but one waterfall was flowing but dont let this stop you from taking this trip its still beautiful and fun so make sure you book this trip its worth it, we booked afternoon trip and loved it.

This was a great experience to learn about the history of Hawaii and it's polynesian ancestory. The only thing that I was disappointed in was having to pay $20 for a single photo that was taken of my wife and I. A little steap for a single photo.

１０／０９に家族で参加してきました。
ハワイ島の海はオアフ島より綺麗なのですが、ハワイ島のホワイト・サンドやケアウホウよりも更に綺麗な海で、入らずにはいられません。船もカタマランなので揺れることも無く、滑り台やジャンプ台など、子供たちは何十回と飛び込んでいましたし、真水のシャワーがあるのもよかっです。
場所はシェラトンに宿泊していたので、歩いて３分といったところです。お薦めします。

Captain Zodiac Kealakekua Bay Snorkeling Tour & South Kona Sea Cave Expedition

If you like snorkelling mixed with a little history, this trip is a must. We have snorkelled all over Hawaii and this is as good as it gets. The water is crystal clear, the coral is beautiful, and the fish, turtles, and spinner dolphins just complete a perfect day! Captain Ken tells you all about the monument and the events that led to Captain Cook's demise. As we arrived at Captain Cook, we found ourselves in the middle of a pod of well over 150 spinner dolphins who were playing in the area that day. They remained there the entire day! And on the ride home, we had a lot of fun mixed with several stops at caves or other points of interest where Ken would tell you the 'story' or explain the legend! This was just a great trip to a beautiful location. We will do it again the next time we am on the Big Island!

以前のビッグアイランドの旅では、ルックアウトからの展望だけだったので、ワゴンツアーを楽しみにしていました。
うわさには聞いていたけれど、４ＷＤで降りる時は、すごい狭い急坂で、頼まれても自分で運転したくはありませんでした。車を降りて、馬車に乗り換え、出発。
谷は、津波で失われた家の痕跡や、きれいな湧き水の流れ、豊かな果樹や咲き乱れるトランペットフラワーなど、マナを感じられる美しいところでした。
しかし、残念なことに、夫も私も英語がわからん！したがって、せっかくのガイドがほとんど理解できませんでした。これは、致命的に、ハワイやらメインランドでの滞在の楽しみを減少させてしまいます。いっつも思ってはいるんですけどね。
ツアーの感想は、ケアヴェの滝も水は無く、移動した範囲も物足りませんでした。もっと、奥まで行ってみたかったです。
けれど、良い体験でしたので、一度は降りてみてはと、おすすめします。

のりのいいお姉さんの案内

　ツアーは４WDの車、馬車の2種類で行われます。馬の扱いも、車の運転ものりの良いお姉さんが一人で行います。
　ところどころで、珍しい木、鳥などを解説してくれるのでそれだけでもかなり楽しめます。（とはいっても英語なので、英語が苦手だときついかもですが）
　ツアーの途中で自然にできているスターフルーツをとって食べさせてくれました。なぜスターフルーツというかはみてみてのお楽しみです。ちなみに馬もスターフルーツは大好きなようでパクパクと食べていました。
　馬車はできれば先頭。車は一番後ろがお勧めです。（車は急なところを降りるので、前につんのめりそうになるため支えがあるところがよいとおもいます）

このツアー
１　１月から６月の雨季には滝が見えるがそれ以外は滝の跡しかみえない。
２　馬車はふつうの馬車でスピードは歩く程度ののんびりしたものである

という点を納得して参加すれば楽しめます。
私は２は確認していたものの１を楽しみにしていたため楽しさは半減でした。とはいえ滝の跡ははっきり見えるので想像することはできます。
　ワイピオ渓谷は上から見ても迫力がありますが、下からみると全体像がわかり、その迫力をよりいっそう感じることができます。
　展望台の横に渓谷入り口があり、文字通り転がりそうな坂を下って行き、車が１台がやっと通れるような急坂をゆっくり降りて行くが、事故ったら本当に谷底まで落ちるのが実感できるだけにかなりのスリルがあります。（ハイキングも可能ですが急坂だけで往復2時間くらいかかるのでは？）
　そこが終わるとあとは平地につき、馬車に乗り換えのんびりとした雰囲気を味わえます。馬車のよしあしは別にして、あの坂を自力で下りるのはきついけど、下からの景色を見てみたいというかたはぜひ参加してください

　今回2回目のハワイで、ケアラケクワ湾の主ノーケリングに参加しました。残念ながら当日はハワイでは非常にめずらしい曇り空でした。当日は曇りで、きれいな海が見られるのか心配でしたがきれいな海を楽しむ事ができました。
　ちなみに私は非常に乗り物酔いがはげしく唯一それが心配でしが、船酔いもなく無事に過ごすことができました。
　今まで何度か日本国内やハワイでのシュノーケリングに参加したことがありましたが今回が一番きれいで楽しめました。記念の旅行だったので良い思い出ができよかったです。
是非、次の機会にも参加したいと思います。

We had an amazing experience with the luau. The performances were very good! The staff was wonderful and the food was amazing. A lot of variety for choices in the foods. Would go again and will reccommend.

ワイピオバレーと癒しの旅

こんにちは （*^_^*）

９月の初旬にワイピオバレー（渓谷）ワゴンツアーに参加してきました。

今回の我々の旅の目的はスピリチュアルツアーです。
癒しの海、生命エネルギーの火山（ペレ）とそして緑に包まれたこのワイピオバレー渓谷。

ワイピオバレー渓谷は“神の住む谷”とも言われかつての王族達の隠れ家でもあったようです。
そしてここのエネルギーはとても素晴らしいとの話も聞いていました・・・。

コナのホテルから車を走らすこと約一時間半。
待ち合わせの看板めがけてまっしぐらに走ったのですが、間違えてしまい渓谷の入り口の展望台に着いちゃいました (^-^;

せっかく着いたので、ひとまず外にでて景色を堪能。
ぱっと見た感じでは山と山に囲まれた狭い渓谷という印象。
ここからではそれほど強烈なエネルギーも感じられない。
とはいえ、ハワイ島自体が強烈な癒しと生命力にあふれているので、日本のそこらのパワースポットとは当然比べ物にはなりませんが・・・。

そうこうしてるうちに時間も迫ってきたので、お巡りさん？に道を尋ね来た道を引き返し待ち合わせ場所に到着。
ここで４ＷＤに乗り換えていざ出発。

先ほどの展望台を過ぎ細き急な坂道を下り始めます。
で、この道に入る前にガイドさんが「車が激しく動くから安全ベルト外してください」って・・・。
意味わかりますか？
締めるのではなく外すのです。
つけていると逆に身体にあざが出来るほどに車が跳ねます。
これだけでもこのツアー行く価値があります (^-^;

ちなみに僕は自分の車があっても決してここには車で踏み込まないでしょう。

さて、下の平地に降りてから少し走り馬車に乗り換えていざ出発です。
我々を案内してくれるのは馬とロバのハーフちゃん。
なのですが以外に大きく力持ち。
彼らは馬車を引きながら(２頭立てです）川をわたり狭い道をずんずん進んでくれます。
ガイドさんのワンちゃんも前になり後ろになり着いてきます。

途中で花や植物の説明なんかもしてくれて、そこに咲いてる美しい南国の花を取ってくれて、女性はそれを耳にさして記念写真をパチリ♪

エネルギーはと言うと、さすがですね~、来たかいがありました。
美しく力強い骨の髄まで染み込んでくるようなエネルギーです。

心配だったので待ち合わせ場所には早めに行ったのですが、無事着く事ができました。
日本人ばかり8人の参加でツア−がスタ−ト。
車で急斜面を降りていくのはとても楽しく、気持ち良かったです。
馬車に乗り換え水溜りや小さな川を渡りながら自然たっぷりの中を走るのは爽快でした。
英語ガイドの女性の方も楽しく、とても満足できるツア−でした。

初めてのハワイ島・・まず最初に選んだのがこのワイピオバレ−ワゴンツア−でした。
自然たっぷりの渓谷を馬車で行くなんてなんて楽しそうなんだろう・・・・
外人の方にも人気のツア−と聞いていましたが、私達と日本人の方6人計8人で参加しました。
ジェットコ−スタ−や急流すべりの苦手の私にはスリル満点でしたが、とても楽しかったです。
ガイドの女性は英語でしたが、日本語をまじえての説明はとてもわかりやすく、明るく楽しい方でした。
かわいいお馬さんと自然の中をまわれてとても満足できるツア−でした。
ガイドさん、一緒に参加した京都の皆さんありがとうございました。

I went on this tour alone and found it very informative with lots to do even if you have nobody to share it with. The other tourists were very friendly and helped me take plenty of pictures and the tour guide was a sponge of information!

We absolutely enjoyed the Fair Wind Catamaran Cruise activity. The crew was friendly and very accomodating, the snorkeling location was absolutely beautiful and was filled with sea life and the experience overall was wonderful. Definitely recommend this activity. Will definitely repeat this activity when we visit the Big Island again.

両親と家族の計6人で参加しました。
2年前が山火事でツアーが当日キャンセルになってしまったため、今回は到着日に予約して参加しました。
４ＷＤで急坂をおりて、馬車に乗り換えてツアー開始です。
特に目玉がある訳ではないですが、大自然を感じ、とても癒されます。川を渡る時には意外とスリルがあり、子供たちは喜んでいました。
感じ方は色々だと思いますが、ハワイ島を代表する場所だと思います。

集合場所に迷って、催行会社に電話して待っていてもらったのですが、スタッフの対応も良く気持ちよく参加できました。（予約バウチャーには、「ハイウェイ240を進み、0.5マイルほど進み、道路左手に7mileと記載された標識の場所」とありますが、0.5マイルでなく、約7マイル進んだ場所でした。何度も行ったり来たりしました。）

The staff was great. Good outdoor activity; even mm mother thought it was the best thing we did. Snacks should have been healthier, especially considering the price; more things like the pineapple, lose the chips.

楽しかったです

ルアウショーの内容は全て英語で、所々分かったり分からなかったりでしたが、雰囲気も抜群で楽しかったです。

日本人の比率は少ないです。長いテーブルに座って料理はバイキング形式でした。
スタッフの方が気を使ってくださったのか、日本人のご夫婦とお隣にしてくれました。ハワイは何度も来ているそうで、おかげさまで、宿泊先近辺の便利な所を教えてくださったりで、とても助かりました。

会場の方が、入場する前に写真を取ってくれて食事中に「購入はどうですか？」という感じで聞かれます。

この写真については、以前から検索していて前評判が良くなかったと感じたのですが、実物の写真を見たらきれいに撮れていたので、せっかくだから・・・　と記念に購入しました。

私達がハネムーンだと分かった周囲のお客さん達も、とてもフレンドリーで少しだけ英語でお話したりできて楽しかったです。

ダンスも迫力があって面白かったし、料理もおいしかったです！

語学力があれば、もっと楽しめると思います！

食事とダンスを見るオプションだと思っていたのですが，食事の前にフラダンス・椰子の葉の細工・インクでのボディペイントなどちょっとしたレクチャーがありました。
食事はチキンはとてもおいしかったです。

なかなか日常では体験できないツアーで楽しかったです。
今年は雨が少なかったので滝が見れなかったのは残念でしたが、本物の馬車の揺れがとてもリアルです。時々、馬が言うことを聞かなくなるアクシデントなど、遊園地では味わえないスリルを子供たちも楽しんでおりました。ガイドさんは英語での説明なので良くわかりませんでしたが、野生のパッションフルーツを摘んで食べさせてくれるなどサービスは満足です。ちなみにパッションフルーツは美味しかったです。
大人２人に付き子供１人無料のツアーだったのですが、申込みが２週間前までという記述を見落としてしまいました。今後、申し込む方は注意してください。
