海中の景色は感動ものでした
Reviewed by: HANCHAN, 2008/09/07 2月のマウナケアに続き、こちらに申し込みましたが、大正解でした。ここは一般では行けない場所のようで、現地の方に聞いても家族で数回参加しているとのこと。リピータも多いようです。日本語対応ではありませんが、本旨には問題ありません。
現地集合の場所ですが、主な地図には場所が明記されているものの結構迷いますから、時間には余裕を持って出かけたほうが良いと思います。私たちは前日に一度下見をしました。
天気はよかったのですが、それでもシュノーケルをつけて見渡す海中は別世界。特に浅瀬では手が届くところに様々な熱帯魚が泳ぎ回り、感動ものです。滑り台からのダイブも、二人で童心に返って楽しみました。
ただ、浅瀬ではサンゴを傷つけないよう、またウニに注意です。私は知らずにウニに触ってしまい、棘が指に刺さって痛い思いをしました。なかなか抜けないのです。酢を浸した紙で包んでおくと浮き出してくると教わり、実際そうだったのですが、刺抜き等の準備はしておいていただいた方が、とは感じました。
何度でも参加したくなるツアーはそうありません。お奨めです。

ハワイ島 パラセイリング ＜午前・午後／カイルアコナ発＞ by UFO Parasail

Reviewed by: ウッチー, 2008/09/07スタンダード120mライド(早朝スペシャル)に参加しました。当日朝にレンタカーでカイルアコナへ出かけ、コナスクウェアの結構奥まったところにあるオフィスを何とかを見つけることができ、時間通りに参加できました。朝のコナは天気も良く、コナの街や港、停泊中の豪華客船（スピリットオブアメリカ号)を眼下にして、のんびりと空中散歩を楽しむことができました。海が本当にきれいで、上空からサンゴ礁がくっきり見えました。
300mm望遠を使ったデジタル写真撮影(512MbSDカード付30ドル)を薦められ、お願いしました。４人で50枚ほど撮影してもらいました。また、オフィスや船上で、240mライドへのアップグレードを薦められましたが、これはやめておきました。Ｔシャツや帽子の販売もありました。きれいなボートで、全体的な雰囲気も良く、満足できるパラセーリングでした。

目の前で見るルアウショー
Reviewed by: ウッチー, 2008/09/07家族旅行の最後の夕食で、ルアウショーを楽しみました。以前に見たポリネシア文化センターのイブニングショーと比べ、少人数でコンパクトなショーでしたが、舞台が目前にあって迫力ある踊りを楽しみました。また、食事も期待以上においしく食べることができ満足しました。英米圏の新婚カップルが何組か来ており、司会者の紹介でダンスを楽しんでいました。欧米の人は、本当に楽しそうに逐一司会者の呼びかけの反応しており、自分ももっと英語のコミュニケーションが取れるようになりたいと感じました。
今回は、サウスコハラのホテルから、レンタカーでカイルアコナへ出かけ、ショッピングセンターの駐車場に車を置いて、コナ街中を散策した後、ルアウショーを見ました。道に迷うこともなく、参加することができほっとしました。

ポリネシアンミュージックとダンスと料理のフルコース
Reviewed by: MARUKO, 2008/08/29家族4人で参加しました。ロケーションはホテルのプライベートビーチで、参加者は２００人程でした。ほとんどが欧米からの観光客で日本人は少なかったです。席は先着順で私達は開園直前に行ったので後ろの席しか空いていませんでした。当然前の方の席ほどダンスの迫力が違います。私達は小さな子供達がいたので結果的に後ろの方の席で広いスペースでのんびりとできてよかったです。
ダンスの前にディナー（ビュッフェ形式）があります。品数は豊富でポリネシアン料理がたくさんあって全種類食べるのには日本人の男性では厳しい方もいると思います。魚介類の料理もあってハワイの食文化を堪能できます。日本と決定的に違うのは、欧米人の方は1回で大量に取って2回目以降をとりに行く人が少ないので、1回のとる量が少量の日本人にとっては後で食べようと思っていた料理が無くなっていることもあります。ちなみに料理の補充はありません。お酒もフリードリンクですが、ショーが始まるとバーカウンターも閉じてしまうので、料理の前にお酒は好きなだけ飲んでおいて下さい。
ダンスショーはハワイのフラダンスショーONLYではなく、ポリネシア圏の様々な形のダンスを音楽を交えて披露してくれます。日本語の説明は一切ありませんが、かえって異文化に包まれている雰囲気が高まり楽しめます。
火の女神ペレが住む島ハワイ島での素敵な一晩になりますよ。

Morning Whale Watch & Snorkel BBQ Cruise (from Kailua-Kona Pier)
Awesome experience

The instructors were very knowledgeable and we felt safe with their instruction. Not sure if this option is available on all tours.

I'm pretty sure there are people who don't like certain foods, but hey, you are experience something different, right? I liked poi, though not too many people tried it. Overall, it was a great experience.

Price is perfect, deep blue ocean and YOU CAN MEET DOLPHINS!! I have never experienced seeing wild dolphins with huge numbers and hearing the sound of dolphins! It is one of the best experiences I have ever seen!
If you go to Hawaii, go check this trip!

気持ち良いツアーでした！
Reviewed by: ALOHA娘, 2008/07/12ダンナと2人で参加しました。日本語ガイドがないツアーのため日本人参加者は我々だけでしたが、チェックイン時に日本語のガイド（注意書きなど）が渡されるので、あとはシュノーケルツアーに参加したことがある方、少しでも英語でコミュニケーションがとれる方であれば問題なく楽しめます！
午後からのツアーでしたが、天気にも恵まれ、キャプテンクック碑まで行く船旅もとても気持ちよかったです。（ダンナは若干船酔していましたが・・・）
魚もたくさん見れましたし、出発時には大きなカメも見れて大満足です。
また、レンタカーを借りていたので送迎なしツアーであったことも魅力でした。ただ、レンタカーなしの場合は厳しいと思います。駐車場はケアウホウ湾とおおまかに記されていたので若干どこかな~と思いましたが、実際に行ったら近所のおじさんが親切に教えてくれたので問題なかったです！
時間があればまた参加したいツアーのひとつです。

いい思い出になりました。
Reviewed by: 匿名希望, 2008/07/11私たちは午後のクルーズに参加しました。魚たちと一緒に泳ぐのを楽しみにいきましたのでとてもいい経験をしました。サンゴ礁の周りにはたくさん、色とりどりの魚がいて、水槽の中を泳いでいるようでした。
参加した日は、曇りだったからなのか、海水が思ったより冷たく、最初は海に入る時は少しビックリしました。しかし、海の中では冷たさを忘れるくらい楽しい時間をすごせました。クルーズして、スノーケリングできて、とても素敵な思い出となりました。今度は是非、イルカにも会いたいです。

南島の海の世界
Reviewed by: Andy, 2008/07/116月21日の”フェアウインド・クルーズ - ハワイ島ケアラケクア湾シュノーケリング”ツアーに参加してきました。ハワイ島の南の方は曇りが多いようで、今回もやや曇りぎみでした。ところが、海の中を一目覗くと全くの別世界！トロピカルでカラフルな可愛い魚たちが、楽しげに泳いでます。明るい水色の中に、黄色やオレンジ、赤やブルーの色のコンビネーションがとてもキレイでした。そして、グレーの魚の大群の大移動！夢のようでした。帰りの船でのこと、船のスピードが出てきたところに、イルカの群れがぴったり横に張り付いて仲間のように楽しげに泳いでました。こんなに近くで野生のイルカを見れる機会はそうないと思います。良い思い出が作れますよ。

行ってみるべしフェアウインドクルーズ
Reviewed by: 匿名希望, 2008/07/10６月２８日にアフタヌーンスナッククルーズに参加しました。まずは同行者の船酔いが心配だったのですがそんな心配は全くいりませんでした。
他のクルーズには何回か参加した事があったのですがいままでで一番揺れが少なかったと感じました。
海もきれいでしたよ。あんなにまじかにさんご礁を見たのははじめてでした。せっかくハワイに行ったならあの海は必見です。シュノーケリングの前に船長の説明と注意事項が結構長くありましたがそれも責任ある仕事って感じがして信頼できました。それでもたっぷり２時間はシュノーケルできましたよ。スッタフもとても行儀良く親切なのでとても気持ち良く楽しむことができました。
帰りは船の上からハワイ島の景色を見ながらシュノーケリングの心地よい疲れと海風でうたた寝してしまいました。
イルカは見ることはできませんでしたが次回は早起きしてイルカの遭遇率の高いモーニングクルーズに参加しようと思います。

フェアウインドクルーズに行ってきました。

集合場所のフェアウインドのオフィイスがよく分からなかったので宿泊したコンド（コナバイザシー）のロビーの人に予約票を見せて場所を教えてもらいました。英語はできませんが簡単な地図に行きかたを書いてくれたので迷わず行けました。でも少し早めに出かけたほうがいいですね。
出発前にトイレに行ったら途中の廊下にハワイのツアーに贈られる表彰状が無造作に何枚も掛けてありました。金賞？銀賞？毎年もらってるんだなーここ３年は金賞ばかりでした。
結構、老舗なのね。でも体験してみないとわからんぞー。
以前ハワイ島で小さな船で行くツアーに参加してあまりの揺れに体調が悪くなった経験がありちょっと心配だったのです。乗船するとスッタフ全員の名前が表示してありキャプテンはＨＩＲＯＭＯＴＯさんでした。日系の方かしら？ちょっと安心。出発してもっと安心しました。揺れほとんどない？
と言うよりは心地よい揺れでした。海の美しさは100点満点でした。帰りは体が冷えているではおるものを持っていったほうがいいですよ。

楽しかったフェアウインド・クルーズ

お天気を気にしてクルーズの申し込みを迷っていましたが申し込んで正解でした。私達が参加した６月２８日は朝から曇りでしたが船が出発するとだんだん晴れてきました。ハワイ島に４日間いましたが雨らしいものは降りませんでした。
キャプテンクックに到着してたっぷり２時間はシュノーケリングを楽しみました。海の透明度はすごく良かったです。
お魚もたくさんいましたし、さんご礁もとてもきれいでした。なによりスタッフがとても親切（きっと社員教育ができているんでしょう）で泳ぎに自信のない私に「これ使う？」と箱の底がガラスになったものを貸してくれました。
これを使うと顔を水につけなくても海の中がすごく良く見えました。もちろんライフジャケットや浮き輪まで貸してくれましたよ。今度ハワイ島に来る時も是非参加したいです。

行ってきました！フェアウインド・クルーズ

よかったですよー。私たちは親子２人での参加でした。 朝起きるとあいにくの曇り空で雨は大丈夫かな~と心配しながらの参加でしたが予想以上によかったです。 途中から時折日差しも見えてきて、何より船の上で感じる風！これは船に乗らないと感じる事ができない気持ち良さです。３０分ほどでキャプテンクックの記念碑の前のシュノーケリングポイントに到着です。 海に入るとその透明度にびっくりしました。 あんなにたくさんの珊瑚を見たのは初めてでした。その珊瑚の間を行きかう大、小、色もさまざまな魚がたくさんいました。ハワイとひとくくりで言ってしまうにはもったいないワイキキの海とは全く違う手つかずの美しい海でした。
次回は是非イルカに出会えるかもしれないデラックス モーニングクルーズに参加したいです。

午後のツアー

地図をダウンロードしていかなかったので、駐車場が
どこかよくわからなかったのが失敗でした。
事務所でチェックインした際に、その後船で説明される
注意事項などが日本語で書かれたものをくれるので
英語が苦手でも安心だと思いました。
その時日本人は私たち４人と、他は若いご夫婦の２人
だけだったと思いますが、日本語ペラペラのレイさんと
いう日系の女性の方がいたので心強かったです！
私たちは自分の度つきのマスクを持っていってましたが
船にもありました。(Rx.マスク)
度は4.0まであって、視力0.1位の方まで大丈夫な様です。
でも、フィンなどの貸し出しが済んだあと地味~に聞いて
回っているので、最初マスクの貸し出しのときに「Rxマスク
が欲しい！」と言った方がよいと思います。
ケアラケクア湾はとても美しく、すぐ近くに色とりどりの
魚が泳いでいて、子供たちは時間ギリギリまでシュノーケ
リングを楽しんでいました。
お天気が曇りがちだったこともあって帰りは結構寒かった
ので、タオルだけではなくて羽織るものがあった方が
良かったかな~
大人も子供も楽しめるツアーで、参加して良かったです！

Boat was very comfortable and we had a very pleasant journey to the Captain Cook Monument (our snorkel spot). Kids loved the water slide and high dive off the boat as much as the snorkeling experience.

Awesome Experience
Reviewed by: The Sharp Family, 2008/06/24Everyone we talked to on the Big Island said that this was the best snorkeling experience in Hawaii. After taking an afternoon sail, I can see why. The simple answer is that it has an extremely awesome crew. They are both knowledgeable and very friendly. The snorkeling gear fitted well (and we were one of the last groups to receive ours so they clearly had enough to go around) and the snorkeling was great. My children enjoyed both the diving platform and the slide (and i did as well.) Mahalo.

Great Experience

The weather could have been better on our afternoon cruise; however, that is obviously beyond the control of the crew. The snorkeling was great and it was a unique way to see the coast (and to visit the Captain Cook monument without having to make the drive.) Best of all, the crew was fanstastic--organized, efficient and very friendly. It was probably our only Hawaii activity where tips were truly vountarly. Thanks for a great time.

Great staff and views
Reviewed by: John and Jenna, 2008/06/23Staff was very knowledgable and friendly. We did the afternoon cruise and were amazed by how many people they fit onto the boat...it was huge. The snorkling was great and it was easily modifed for all ability levels from small (2 yr old) children, to the elderly. They do not provide life vests, but you dont need them. They do have waist floats if you would feel more comfortable. Great time

Wanting and Getting Adventure
Reviewed by: Kalelena & Kiana Lowry, 2008/06/19After two weeks on Island and doing many things, we reflected on our wonderful adventure with the Fair Wind gang. From the Wahines at the check in to the crew on board an awesome time was had by all. We made friends along the way and had a much needed adventure you can't get unless you get aboard. The island is so beautiful from off shore and should be checked out by everyone in need of some true fun. The boat is clean and comfortable. The crew was really up for giving everyone what they needed and smiles and laughter where the results all around. We saw more dolphin on this trip than we did on an actual dolphin trip we went on. A win win in our book. We have a condo in Kona and go quit often. Fair Wind adventures have made a return client out of us on our future trips. Mahalo nui loa for all the le'ale'a (fun)!!!!

They provided a narrative about the Captain Cook Monument and a quick review of how to snorkel for the experienced participants. For those with little or no experience they provided further assistance. The waters were clear and the coral was beautiful. We spotted several different types of fish too. The fresh oranges and pineapples provided as snacks were quite delicious after being in the water for so long. All in all this was a very pleasant excursion.

Absolutely Must Do
Reviewed by: SnowMan, 2008/06/14This is the most amazing / moving / breathtaking / spectacular tour I've ever taken in my life... Growing up in a city, I've never seen a night sky like that before... i thought i was seeing a cloud, but turned out to be the Milky Way... there were literally millions of stars in the sky... made me feel that we are a part of this vast galaxy...
the drive to Mauna Kea was fun... Pat, the guide, even stopped our vehicle to see the owl by the road... I even got to see the state bird, Nene, at the Onizuka Space Center...
Mauna Kea is such a spritual place, and I will never forget the sunset.. Oh, you have to take a tour to go up to the summit since you need a permit... it's not like Haleakala on Maui where everyone can go..
Do this tour if you are going to be in the Big Island... I recommend everyone to do this tour... Just amazing!!!

Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2008/06/10This was the best snorkel experience I ever had. The crew is very nice. I saw many amazing things, such as coral, beautiful fish, and sea turtles. I even got extremely close to about 20 dolphins. The boat is also nicely equipped with a water slide and diving board, which are a lot of fun. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a great snorkeling experience.
